Fly guy

Hey all, I am in the market for my first inflatable pfd, to be used while fishing on my boat. there are a few out there that range quite a difference in price and reviews, personal experience would be very appreciated. thanks.

It's an aluminum boat, the minute it's hooked up to your vehicle it looses 15 percent and the moment it touches water another 20 percent enjoy your "investment".

Orvis Encounter 5wt $169.00 This is a great set up for a beginner and can be used for many years of learning. 9' 5wt rod is a very common rod to learn on. i have taught a lot of people how to cast and this is the package I always recommend. Check out Orvis website for tutorials.

Well I just pulled the plug and canceled the heritage I ordered. I was already a little leary about buying a boat with a Mercury motor, since they don't exactly have the best reputation but after reading about some quality control issues with the boat and speaking to a friend of mine who is a boat mechanic on the west coast, who told me That without a doubt mercury has the highest rate of warranty problems, and just because they have a 5 year warranty does not mean I want to use it, I decided to cancel. BPS in Raleigh NC, had no problem returning my deposit and told me they were up to a 16 week wait for this boat and it will probably be even longer. I truly hope this boat works out for all of you that are so excited about it but after having quite a few boats in my past I just choose to not take a chance on another one that sits at the shop more than it sits on the water.

Thanks for all the input, Moved to North Carolina from Northern California year and a half ago and have a lot of private ponds and lakes around me now. I have been fly fishing for about ten years but only for trout in streams and rivers, having a blast! So much so that I Just ordered my new boat last week, never in my life did I think I would buy a bass boat but I went out on lake Lure with a friend and his boat and just had a great day, plus my dog can come with me on the boat, what's better than that.

How frustrating, got a call today from BPS in Raleigh asking if I still wanted to order the Heritage, I said of course I do I already put a deposit down and signed the paper. She said ok we will have the manager order it just wanted to make sure, well it's been almost 2 weeks since I thought I ordered the boat already. now it's another 12 weeks out

Hey everyone, I am new to this site and just wondering if any of you use a fly rod for catching bass, if so what's your favorite wt rod and what do you have the best luck catching on?

Ordered mine last Sunday at the BPS in Raleigh NC. Salesman told me they were only making 2500 of these boats and they were expected to sale out by the end of February, also told me it will take at least 12 weeks to get mine. Thats a long wait.
