Flying with tackle
They say you can fly with small hook and tackle in a carry on but they don't exactly know hook sizes.

Flying with tackle
I am headed back to my hometown for work tomorrow for a week and I am lucky enough to be able to fish with my dad, and friends again. I really want to bring a few pieces of tackle but am worried about airport security, I would rather not pay for a checked bag. I am not talking about any crazy hooks or huge lures, but if I could bring 1 or 2 plano boxes and some plastics it would be awesome. Does anyone have any experience bring small hooks and lures as a carry on? I am flying Delta.

fishing/living/ Belgrade lakes ME. area ?
My family has a cottage on Long Pond that I get to for about a week every summer (I am from the midwest). It is my favorite place in the world. The smallmouth fishing is amazing, not a lot of monsters but you can consistently catch fish in the 14-17 inch range, we have also caught multiple pike over 35 inches, and several LMB's over 5lbs. I have spent almost all of my life fishing on Long Pond and the lake is definitely large enough that pleasure boaters/jet ski's are never much of an annoyance. If you are willing to get out early for the best bite you will often have the entire lake to yourself. Hope this helps!

Minnesota Fishing Reports - 2018
Had a great time this morning whacking smallies on topwater on the Mississippi. Caught about 15 small-medium fish all on a spook. Nothing pulls like a river smallie.

Bank Angler: Staying Successful Through the Summer
Minnesota bank angler here and I have been having a great time recently while the fish are up shallow with all different types of fishing. With temps in the 90's here this past week it has me already dreading when the fish head out deep and are much harder to find for a bank angler like myself. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on staying productive? I know fishing sun-up and sunrise is my best bet but I'd prefer to be able to catch fish at all times during the day. Thanks in advance!

Possibly a weird question
Fellow bank fisherman, I have been fishing lately on a metro lake with a very busy walking path but the shoreline is very fishable all the way around the lake. My question is: what does everybody do when the bite is hot and you have to pee? Sorry for the weird question

Minnesota Fishing Reports - 2018
I have had a few fun mornings in a row on Lake of the Isles. Lots of good sized fish including this healthy 18 incher. Caught most fish on wacky rig, and chatterbait, with a few nice fish caught on a jerkbait as well.

Minnesota Fishing Reports - 2018
As someone who grew up in Michigan, does anyone know why bass are not C&R year round in Minnesota? Just curious

Minnesota Fishing Reports - 2018
Hey guys, I just wanted to say what's up. I've been a forum spectator for about a year and thought I'd finally join the discussion. I moved to Minneapolis in June 2016 and have had a lot of fun discovering the lakes and rivers around the metro area. I've been confined to the banks so far but am about to purchase my first kayak. I've just recently got much more serious about fishing and I am looking forward to another fun season. Hope to see some of you around this summer!

Leaders for dummies
What line do you recommend? what knots do you tie?

Leaders for dummies
Growing up I fished pretty pretty much exclusively mono, then switched to using mostly braid about 5 years ago. Now that I am trying to get in to fishing more seriously, I have noticed that a lot of guys prefer use fluoro leaders. I understand the benefits of using a leader but am curious how people make it efficient? To me, using a leader has always meant more time tying extra knots and spending more time without a line in the water. Any advice on how to make it a quick, simple process? Thanks,

$1000 Kayak
I'm sure this has been discussed before but I want some fresh advice. I am about to buy a fishing kayak and am willing to spend around $1000 for the full setup. I have heard a lot of good stuff about the Tarpon 120, but some of the additional stuff I would need (paddle, roof rack, etc) would put me over $1000. Does anybody have any experience/advice on a cheaper option? I would spend most of my time in Minnesota rivers and small lakes. Thanks!

Cincinatti Area Fishing
My girlfriend is trying very hard to get me to move to Cincinatti from Metro Minneapolis. I love living/fishing here because I have so many great bodies of water to fish multiple species, and multiple different kinds of water. Would I be disappointed with the fishing in that area? I do a lot of shore fishing and want to get more into kayak fishing, maybe a boat in the near future.

If You Could Only Have 5 setups
If you had to limit yourself to just 5 setups what would they be? Not looking for specific brands just action, reel type, line type and test. Just kinda curious as I accumulate more gear during the winter months.
