  1. Swamp, is this a during the week thing? That would be fun. Where do y'all launch from?
  2. I have only hit a few spots. I have been to the western fork with lily pads and lost one on a frog in the pads. I have stayed north of the gap and caught a couple. Gonna try again soon I hope. lots of exploring to do still.
  3. Does anyone fish this lake with any success? I have fished it a few times and only caught a couple fish. I like the way the lake looks as the water clarity is pretty clear. i fished it a couple weeks ago and got a couple soft bites but no takers. I am just trying to expand my horizons on where I fish. its about an hourish from my house so i want to maximize my potential when I make that run. I have been told by a few people that the clarity makes it hard to fish. I did notice on my last trip a lot of fingerling bass following my baits in on retrieves and the only fish i ever caught were small and that was last year when i fished. Any help or advice would be appreciated.
  4. Catt, doing well. Seems we brought a bug with us so maybe this afternoon I will get on the water.
  5. So much fantastic information here. I have been reading through this thread for several months now, but haven’t commented until tonight. I am staying on the bend this weekend north of Toledo Town. Hopefully I can put all of this info to use.
  6. I have this motor too and I am stuck in speed one only. When I roll the dial to off, it still runs. When I roll it to 5 it still spins at one. Anybody know anything? I know this is an old post.
  7. Went yesterday to Six Mile to try and find some sac-a-lait to fry. I took the bass poles just in case. Caught one bass open water about 15 foot on chartreuse sexy shad 6XD bout 16 inches long. I didn't put much effort into bass fishing just happened to be messing around and got lucky. For those interested, The sacs were very slow. We ended up with 8 plus one small throwback for three people fishing.
  8. Thanks again everyone. SAM, there are no "perfectly good airplanes" in the military.
  9. That’s a shame. Lots of good fishing around here. Can’t help not knowing about fishing though.
  10. I was my first time here 09-11, now in Ops Grp. Was a box OC, now working in the 3 shop. I love it here. Great hunting and fishing.
  11. Yeah I fished Vernon a ton last year. I know the fish are still there just in the deep holes and creeks. Either have to bank fish or put a small boat that you drag in.
  12. Vernon is more or less a walking trip or small carry in boat if you have one right now, the storms last fall made them drain lake to look at dam and there hasn't been a definite time on when they are going to start filling again. Last I heard was September-October but who knows. This is why I have been going to Bundick. I have fished Anacoco some, but its crowded due to Vernon.
  13. Catt, it would be nice to give it a go with you one day. I don't fish Toledo too often as I try to stay a little closer to home.
  14. Water level is good. Temps yesterday afternoon along the dam varied from 65-69 according to my lowrance. Stained. Both spillway/dam launch and Hopewell Bridge launch are in good shape. I have been fishing the spillway end this year in an effort to fish deeper water. I have been reading your Toledo Thread. Lots of great info. When I get to the end I will probably comment on everything there.
  15. Well, for those of y’all near me, one of my favorite spots is temporarily unavailable for me to launch in so I have been forcing myself to learn new water. I have been able to pick up a few fish on each trip. Nothing major to brag about size wise but they are strong fish. Most have been around the one pound range. I have managed to pick up a couple nicer fish. Biggest was about 3-4 lbs 19” long and solid. As soon as I get a chance I will add photos.
  16. Thanks blue for the welcome and support. Thanks again everyone. S. Doolittle, yes I was an OC but doing staff time right now.
  17. I grew up on the white scum frog with red and white skirt. Loved them but am using SPROs now
  18. Watermelon Red either T-rigged or as a jig trailer.
  19. Thanks A-Jay
  20. Hello J._Bricker. Thanks for the welcome
