After running some errands after work on Friday, I decided to stop by my neighborhood pond. Got a solid 2 pounder in the first 15 minute with black Zoom finesse trick work. Then at dusk on the opposite corner of the pond....this Big Girl just smoked the Munky Butt Whopper Plopper 110!!! She might have slung mudd in my face, but this 5 Pound Slouch was well worth it! 1st Topwater bass of 2019

@James Janousek Never knew there was crappie in there, probably because I only go for the bass. Dude on social media caught like a 20 pound channel cat out of there on Tuesday. Maybe we can link up sometime and beat the bank. "Just cause you BEAT the BANK...don't mean you can't CATCH a TANK!"

Was able to hit this little pond after I left the office. Had 2 bites but was only able to land this football chunk; was 3.85 lbs. Anybody trying to put me onto a couple nice ponds with quality fish, please don't hesitate to message me.

Gee, golly, wiz.....you are correct @Sam! No luck with the shakey head, Gantarel Jr. or Keitech impact swimbait. Well I really ticked them off once I started jigging that ol Chatterbait thru their bed. Female slammed it first at 4.6 pounds....then 10 minutes later the male smoked it at 3.43 pounds!!! 70 year old man tried to give me cash for the fish, smh....educated him why he shouldn't be eating big bass period and that those Urban Lakes in Byrd Park water quality is horrible.

I've been advised to go to the pond behind super Radiator Coils.....are there any decent bass in there?

What are your pre-spawn and spawning "Go to lures"? Right now I have tied on is a chatterbait, bubblegum super fluke on a shakey head, 4-inch swimbait with 3/0 swim jig head, Z-Man Big TRD worm in Coppertreuse......and finally tied on the Jackall Ganteral Jr. for the 1st time!!! Hitting the 3 small city lakes in Richmond's Byrd Park after work.

Still not seeing too many bass on beds in the small local ponds here in Richmond, Va. But did manage to snag this male off the bed at Byrd Park yesterday, 3.3 lbs. The Dogwoods haven't fully bloomed yet, so that mean we still have a little time b4 they're locked in, right @Sam P.S. Check out the bloody tail from making his bed. Fish was safely released back to his location!

This is true!!!! There are all giants in Swan and Fountain..everything 3 lbs and over. Trick is getting them to bite. Personally have caught 4.5 and 5 pounders out of Fountain and 3 lb bass and 7.5 lb Bowfin out Shields. Buddy snagged a 7 pounder out of Swan with Jackyll Swimbait.

Yo Travis, I got the swimbait rod, and the line I will use.....what reels do you recommend for swimbait fishing? Nothing to big...a couple Savage Gear swimbaits, S-Waver, Jackyll Gantural, 6 inch Bull Shad and 6 inch Bull Gill glide baits....biggest might be 3oz.

I'm gonna do a little pond hopping this weekend, hoping to snag some quality fish. Probably head over to Byrd Park when I leave the office here in a little bit.

Has anyone fished the other 2 ponds on Southlake Blvd about a half mile or so on the left? Looks really juicy, one sits behind some warehouse with No Trespassing signs and the other belongs to super Radiator Coils.

Hey guys...have any of you seen any bass on beds as of yet? We suppose to have a really good 4-day break in the weather this weekend, what game plan have you all put in place?

Good one there Travis! Just bought the River2Sea S-Waver in perch color along with Gantarel Jr., and Bull Shad/Bull Gill glide baits. Can't wait to give them a toss on my new Dobyns Fury swimbait rod.

Guys I hit up the Fishing Expo on Saturday....and I had a blast!!! I had on the Pittsburgh Steelers hoodie and hat with camo pants. Got to meet up with some local guys I follow on social media. And I finally got my hands on a couple Bull Shad Swimbaits. Plan on going after that double-digit Swamp Donkey this year. Hope the 6-inch Bull Shad and 5-inch Bull Gill glide help me get it. It was so many great companies there, so I had to stock up a little for 2019. Profound Outdoors with Timmy Horton had some high quality, beautiful lures. Got me a couple Heavy-Z lipless cranks and square bills. By the way that 7-foot Daiwa spinning combo with Green Top for $35 was the best deal there....hands down. Dave's Tackle and other vendors had the same combo for $65-$85. 13 Fishing 7'1 medium heavy Black Fate rod was another steal I got there as well. Catch you guys at the pre-spawn!!!!

Has anyone ever fished the 4 ponds/lakes over at Twin Hickory on the Westend close to Innsbrook?

Been wanting to get out there at dawn at the pond on Lucks Lane. Really clear water...I wanna give my new whopper plopper a go this weekend. What spots do u guys plan on hitting?

1st topwater bass of 2018!!! Using a Rebel Pop-R at sunrise in small subdivision pond and this 5lb, 21 inch football slammed it in about 1 & half feet of water. Some good ol RVA Bass Fishing!!!
