Chatter bait for deeper water
I ordered 3 project z’s. Found a 3 pack on eBay for $25. Black and blue, chartreuse sexy Shad, and the bonus one was a blue back Shad. First 2 should work for stained/muddy rivers down here. Hopefully get deep on the drop offs on the Saginaw

Chatter bait for deeper water
I don’t expect to stay on the bottom but, just try and stay down longer. I’m thinking probably at least 1/2 oz

Chatter bait for deeper water
Well I have some of the z-man version. Those probably would help it stay down.

baitcast reel for flipping/pitching
I like my tatula sv tw 103 hs. Very smooth reel and built like a tank. I use it for flipping and pitching 1oz- 1 1/2 oz jigs into heavy cover. I bought mine new but, I think it’s Generation older than what’s currently out there. I only paid $150 and I think the latest Generation is $180-$200

Chatter bait for deeper water
What z-man chatter bait would stay down deeper after letting it the bottom. Most I have tried or made have the similar head to the Arkie jig. I know a-man makes like 15 different chatter baits. ideally I would like it to try and stay down between 8-14 feet

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Bunch of rivers opened up on mid-Michigan due to the walleye spawn. Hit the Saginaw river, it was packed. I was hoping to catch some smallies and maybe a bonus walleye for dinner. Weather was kinda crappy got rained on 4 times. Caught a bunch of sheap head abd 2 small large mouth. Sheap head are fun to catch but, not what I was looking for. River is loaded with them. One came on a brush jig rest came on a dt-10 girlfriend

Is the Abu Garcia Black Max Good?
Your not going to find a better sub $50 bait caster. I bought mine as my first bait cast combo almost 4 years ago and it still ticking after tangling with a 28 inch flat head. Cheap to up grade also, lots of after market stuff available. I upgraded the bearings just to red barrons and it casts a mile now and feels a lot better when reeling

Where to throw light T rigs?
Any where really. outside of clumps of pads out side of reed walls, under docks, along rocks in socks while eating green eggs and ham. another good place is holes in dense what I call snot grass or any other holes in reeds

Trailer tire pressure
Depends on the trailer and boat. My old 14 mirror craft was very light. Max tire pressure was somthing like 75 lbs. I didn’t dare run them that high or else the whole boat and trailer would bounce like a basketball. I kept those tires at about 45 psi. Put new tires on and ran it for 3 years with no abnormal tire ware. With pulling it a minimum 35 minutes one way 1-2 a week. Most trips were an hour pull. new boat is bigger and heavier. Max psi is 65 psi. Right now the tires are running about 59-60 psi. If it gets much lower I’ll fill them back up. I don’t have to worry about it bouncing all over the place

Are Rage swimmers strong?
I like the rage swimmer and I seem to get 3-4 fish out of them if I super glue them to the jig head I’ve been liking the divine swimmers too from 6th sense either used as search bait or in swim jig. They have a nice stiff tail and so far northern pike tested to take multiples off

Anyone still throwing a single Colorado blade spinnerbait?
Single Colorado blades seem hard to come by for some reason. Especially gold or bronze colored single Colorado blades. I really need to bite the bullet and make my own

Clear water plastic colors
I would honestly just run a longer flouro leader and just run your normal stuff

Why have boat insurance
For a free boat I have almost $8000 into it. There’s that and a tow bill on the Great Lakes is going to cost $400 an hour the moment the tow boat casts of lines if you break down out in the lake. So if I were to break down 7-10 miles out chasing salmon, trout, or walleye you can see how it will add up quick. I have progressive and it covers towing within 75 miles of the U.S. I believe it covers roadside towing or a blow out also. I think $750,000 liability which, crap happens at least they won’t sue myself they will go after the insurance. only thing progressive doesn't cover is tackle and rods not under lock and key. For all of that it cost $120 a year. One tow will more than cover $120 for years to come

Hard re-boot
I’m finally over this blasted Covid. Started not feeling well on the way to dropping the wife and kid off to her moms for Easter. I planned and did fish all day. Started feeling funny on the hour ride over. Didn’t think much of it “I’ll feel better once I get in the water and start fishing”. Got sicker as the day went on finally time to go back and texted the wife and said I’m not feeling good . I kid you not by the time I got into the house ( away from everybody) and sat down I literally passed out for 2 hrs on the couch. Finally woke up feeling a little better to drive an hour home with boat. long story short came down with Covid not sure where I got it. It but, me down hard for 2 weeks untill I could get the antibody treat ment. Luckily I never had it in my lungs. Lost dang near 30 lbs . Wife got it ( not as bad ) we’re sure izzie had it. Tommrow marks the last day of quarantine and I’m ready to hit the water again. I’m feeling preatty good. Somethings don’t smell or taste right but, I’ll take it. Worse thing is we had decent weather. Best thing is all the local rivers open back up on Saturday due to the end of the walleye spawn needless to say I’m ready to go!!!! Ready to restart this spring.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
Nothing all that much impressive today. There was no pattern today. I caught 6 different fish on 6 differnt lures. Didn’t get a picture of the pike that went 26 inches for some reason. Caught the one on a chatter bait that I made. The head and skirt is called baby bass shad raps have been working so far caught another one on a black and silver #5. Caught the pike on a divine swim bait, and another bass on a flicker Shad. I need to invest in some more of Shad raps. Last couple years I’ve nailed some nice early in March and April. So far that hasn’t been the case lake was Murphy lake near millington mi.

When to use scent on your bait
I actually tried some bait mate game fish attracted the other day. I found at Walmart. It was a colder day only caught 3 so I decided to try it. Smells like licorice kinda. How often should you apply attracted. I only applied it once. I didn’t fish jigs or plastic a whole lot that day either.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
First trip in the books. A balmy 45 degrees water temp did get up to 50. Saw a lot of fish busting by the shore line. Though that was odd. Caught 3 large mouth 2 on a silver #5 Shad rap and 1 on a divine swim bait. Lost the Shad rap in the old pads. Need to buy 2 now. Not big all all three I think would have been legal . Anybody know the name of that Shad rap? I bought it at a grocery store in Frankfort

Anyone used these casting rods: MH Enigma HPT Gen 3, IROD Genesis III, Okuma EVX, Daiwa Tatula?
I have an 7ft medium okuma EVX I with a phlueger supreme bait caster. I bought it just this last November. I plan on using it for shallow to medium cranks. I think it would make a good spinner bait rod too. I haven’t used it yet but, feels awesome in my hands though. I’m going for the first time Friday I’ll let you know how it does.

Casting jigs in stained/dirty water
Black jig, black and blue skirt, with black and blue flake chigger craw ( any black/blue craw would work). Even in stained and dirty water 80% of the time they still nail it in the drop. I may slow my retrieve up a little bit, it’s a combination of hops, drags, and pauses until you figure out their mood if they don’t hit it in the drop
