GLX 893c JWR uses
Recently picked up a GLX 893c JWR. Was thinking of using it for small jigs and T rigs but I have other rods that could fill that slot. Looking for other uses for this rod. Thanks.

Rod question.
Thanks for everyone's impute. After much reading last night I decided to stick with glass for now. Found a mislabeled Dobyns Champion 735 at there online store for 170. I will use the 735 for 1/2 oz and smaller. 736 for larger stuff. If the glass don't work for me, I will purchase a 734c. Thanks again.

Rod question.
Just going off of rod manufacture recommendations. That's why I'm hear asking the people that use them.

Rod question.
Thanks for your impute BankBasser. Just watched a Matt Allen spinnerbait video from 2017 where is lists his high end rod for spinner baits and chatter baits as the G Loomis GLX 894. Thoughts? Would it work for buzzbaits also? I do have 1 that is a spare as of now.

Rod question.
Looking for a do all (spinnerbait, chatterbait and buzzbait rod). Doable? Currently have a Dobyns champion 736 cb glass that is recommended for chatterbaits and spinnerbaits. Called Dobyns and they say it will work but the 734c being graphite will work better. Any opinions? Would graphite work better then glass for the 3 Technics I'm asking about? Is there 1 rod that will fish all better? I saw a video on u tube where A pro is saying glass for trebles, graphite for single hook. Thanks for your time.

Looking for more rod advice
Thank you for your advice. I checked out The Tackle Trap and decided to purchase a GLX 894c JWR domo. I also received a line on a Megabass Destroyer FMJ that was to good to pass on so I bought it also. Guess you could say i fell off the deep end today, but I will sure enjoy both those rods when they get hear.

Looking for more rod advice
74 views and no comments? So, I have narrowed it down to 2 rods. Dobyns Champion HP Mike Long and the Megabass Destroyer FMJ. Thoughts? Am I missing anything better? Again it will be used for 3/8 to 1/2 oz pitching and swim jigs. Weight reduction and sensitivity and balance is the key. Thanks.

Looking for more rod advice
Looking for a dedicated 3/8 to 1/2 oz jig rod. I bought a used Dobyns xp 765 flip for 3/4- 1 1/4 oz jigs. Plan on using braid with mono leader. Wanting a higher end rod in the 2-400 range for better sensitivity and weight reduction (current 100-150 Tatula rods). Hear is a couple I have been looking at 1. Kistler KLX 7'3" Med hevy 2. Megabass Orochi XX PP 3. Dobyns HP 743 or 744. 4. G Loomis IMX 893 JWR (for 170 if I drive 2.5 hours to pick up) Any impute on these rods? Recommendations on something better. Could step up to the GLX 893 or 894 for 450. Thanks.

Rod question
Big 'un and Short Fish. Thanks for your advice. I will give it a try. Thanks, Very helpful. I do have 1 more question. Allot of people (opinions on the interweb), think the Daiwa Tatula rods fish heaver then rod specs. The 721 HFB is rated 12-25 lb and 1/4-1 1/2 oz. Would this rod work for a heavy punching rod? would like to try before I go spend a chunk on a nice rod. Thanks.
-
Rod question
Guess I'm looking for a top water rod. If the Daiwa won't work I'm considering the Dobyns champion 734. What would be the best choice?
-
Rod question
So, this Daiwa Tatula 7'2 MHRB 1/4-1 oz, 10-20 lb casting rod I have. Will it do well as a 1/4-3/8 oz swim jig rod? Looking for a dedicated use for it and a 8.1:1 reel.

Rod question
G Loomis rod description :When you're looking for a really good spinning rod for steelhead, silvers and other small salmon, this is an excellent choice. It's got a lot of power with our magnum taper design and the tip is light enough to cast spinners, spoons or crankbaits. It is very popular for light-duty saltwater use, fishing jigs, spinnerbaits and spoons for redfish, bonefish and permit. IMX makes it surprisingly light considering how powerful this rod is and it's extremely versatile. There's probably nothing you can't do with it except maybe cast a fly.

Rod question
In my quest to focus more on bass and less on salmon/steelhead fishing, I have been down sizing my equipment. I will keep some but have probably 30 + set ups. My questions is I have 2 G Loomis IMX Hot shot rods. specs are 2 Piece | Length: 7'6" | Line: 6lb-12lb | Lure: 1/4oz - 1/2oz | Power: Mag-Light | Action: Extra Fast. I'm wondering if they would work as bass rods. Very light weight at 4.7 oz and have a sensitive tip. Opinions?

spinning rod recommendations
Thanks for everyone's suggestions and ideas. I purchased the St Croix Avid X 6'9" ML/XF rod. I'm very familiar with St Croix as a company as I have several steelhead rods by them. Great American company. I also bought the used Daiwa rod. If it don't work for me I will give it to my grandson. Thanks again.

Used Spinner/crank bait rod question
So, I have a opportunity to buy a Daiwa TD-S 701MHRB casting rod for 50 bucks. Rod is like new. Would that be a good buy for a spinner/crank bait rod? I posted this at the back end of my spinning rod question and didn't think it was getting seen. Need to buy or pass on this tonight. Thanks.
