Spinnerbait rod
I have this same Rod and its my all around favorite for this reason. Its designed to be a crankbait rod and does that well but its great for spinner baits and blade jigs etc too.

Anyone got a good budget baitcast reel they like?
There is no better bang for your buck than Kastking. Speed Demon or Assasin are my two fav Baitcasters. Or if you need a 5.x gear ration the royal legend elite.

Deep Cranking rod
Thank you for the reply. I never heard of Powell until I posted this. I was offered a powell 7'11" for a little over 100 used which seemed like a decent deal. So far I have 5 or 6 finalists.

Deep Cranking rod
Thanks for the tip!. That rod looks awesome. Its a bit more than I was hoping to spend but I'm going to keep an eye out for one one clearance or something.

Deep Cranking rod
So I'm looking for suggestions hoping to find a rod I haven't yet. I want something close to 8 foot for deep cranking. 8xd 10 xd etc. I was looking at Fred's Crank Launcher and Lews speed stick but There have been little things about each I haven't quite liked. Any other suggestions?

Freds Crank Launcher vs Lew's Fritts Perfect Crank Speed Stick
Thank you for the info, yes this does help some. The rod I was looking at is the one in the link above, its 7'11" so not 9 foot. I'll be using this with 12 lb fluoro and not braid so there won't be a leader knot.

Kast King Baitcaster
I LOVE Kastking stuff. The new Royale Legend elites just came out. I'd buy those instead of the older model Royale legends. I have an assasin and a speed demon and they are both amazing reels. You really can't beat Kastking at their price point. Their stuff competes with (not beats) reels that are $100 more in cost.

Freds Crank Launcher vs Lew's Fritts Perfect Crank Speed Stick
I'm trying to decide between these two rods for deep cranking. (6xd 8xd 10xd) I was ready to buy the Fred's crank launcher https://www.tgsoutdoors.com/genesis-ii-irg7113cc-freds-crank-launcher/ Then I came across the lews rod. https://www.dowdlesports.com/Lews-Fishing-LDFP711MHDF-Prfct-Crankbait-Spd-Stk-HM42_p_74633.html The main thing I don't like about the lews rod is the handle. I prefer the non-cork handles that have the split grips or whatever those are called. But the lews rod is less than half the price. Not sure if more than double the money is enough to justify getting a handle I like. Does anyone have any or both of these rods? What are you're thoughts if you do?
