Need some help/ Duckett rods
Hey everyone. I hope I’m posting this correctly and in the right place. I apologize in advance if I am wrong. I am not finding anything that helps in the search tab. So. I am new to fishing and don’t know too much about much. I was hoping some of you more experienced folks could possibly tell me what the Duckett Rods, white ice pro series, Byron Velvick “lure launcher” rod is used for? It was sold to me as a large, deep diving cranking rod. But I’ve gotten online trying to find ANYTHING about it and nothing hardly mentions a 7’11” cranking rod much. But what I do find are people talking about a 7’11” large swimbait rod. I just want to double check and see if anyone here may have some knowledge on the subject. Anything would be much appreciated. Hello newbie from Birmingham Alabama
@Tennessee Boy sorry about the Bama game. If it’s any consolation which I know it’s not. I’m an Auburn fan. So. You know. I’m not looking forward to our matchup either. I appreciate everyone being so helpful and nice on this forum. I’m sorry it takes me so long to get back to everyone. Life is too crazy at this time. But. I’m sure there is a place to post this question, but, I’m gonna ask you guys anyway. I’m still learning my way around the forum. So it takes me a minute to find what I’m looking for sometimes. I got a really on job boat a few months ago. Long story / short. Old boat gone. Brand new aluminum Jon in driveway. Filled it with water and I’ve got super small leakage on two maybe three rivets. My wife bought this boat for me because I was so torn up about boat #1. Had a leak. I decided to “fix” it. Went bad. Real bad. Spent a good bit of cash trying to fix it and thought I had it fixed. But got it in the water and with nothing in it in the boat took on whole lot of water. I was not happy. Thankfully I’ve got an amazing wife. And she knew what it meant to me to be on the water this time of year. She bought me a brand new 12’ alumicraft. Well. I’ve got at least 2 rivets taking on literally a drop of water. Doesn’t even drip. But. Being a brand new boat and the trouble I had with the first boat. I need some advice. Should I return it or should I try and fix it? I just don’t want to regret trying to fix it a year down the road and obviously I don’t know how to fix aluminum and rivets correctly because I made the first boat worse in my attempt to fix the leak. Thanks guys. Any advice is much appreciated.

Hello newbie from Birmingham Alabama
Thanks guys. I appreciate the replies. Sorry it’s taken me so long to get back in here. Work is kind of crazy. You know. But @heycoach thanks for the spots to check out. I’ve usually been fishing at a lake behind 5guys burgers and fries off hwy31 in riverchase. I believe it used to be a golf coarse but it closed down and condos were built so they dammed it up and let it fill. I actually caught my best bass yet there yesterday. I’ve also been fishing at lake Cyrus. It’s a gated subdivision a friend of mine lives in and his property backs up to the lake. So he’s been nice enough to let me park my flat bottom boat down there. He does a lot of upkeep on the lake but no one ever fishes it. I pretty much have my own stocked private lake. So I’ve been pretty lucky since I last posted. I actually caught a pretty big crappie in it. I’d never even seen a crappie until that day I caught two. One really good one. Had no idea they were even in there.

Hello newbie from Birmingham Alabama
Hello everyone. My name is aj. I’m super new to fishing. I’m not sure how I got so interested in fishing at 41 years old but I did. I’m from Birmingham Alabama and have been fishing almost everyday after work in a few ponds around town. I didn’t realize when I started buying equipment how much there is to learn. It’s not like it was fishing with my grandfather for bream with an old zebco 33 anymore. So. I hope some of you guys here can help me along. I’ve got a lot of questions and basically zero help from anyone but myself. So. Your about all I’ve got. Thanks.
