  1. To answer brokeju I fish everything on spinning rods all the way up to Trophy fly-in pike. I fish 90 percent with plastic. Lake Okeechobee in the winter[bass] and Lake Champlain May to Oct [bass or pike]. All in shallow water. Equipment various cabala's XML rods ,or Loomis rods/ Shimano Stradic 2500FIs or Stradic 4000FIs/ Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 #8, or #10 mono/ Gamakatsu 3/0 or 5/0 EWG Hooks. I am leaning towards a St Croix Avid looking for recommendations.
  2. I'm in the market for a spinning rod for weightless 6" senkos. What do you guys like?
  3. Anyone got a current Lake Okeechobee fishing report? Thanks
  4. Anyone got a Lake Okeechobee report?
  5. I am a newbie in posting though I have been a member for a year plus. I am looking for a frog rod comparible : to the Avid AS70MF. About the same price and warranty. Of course it must be on sale. Reeds is sold out. I am also looking for a Avid AS68MXF for Senkos
  6. I am in the process of returning [for exchange] a Stradic 4000 to Cabelas [1 month old] as I can feel the gears binding and/or grinding when the line is under tension. I spoke to a Shimano authorized repairman who stated he has been encountering similar problems with some of the high end reels. The repair required the replacement of the gear set. He contacted Shimano who was unaware of any problem with these reels. The other thing I noticed about this reel with the new spool design was that it appears that the casts are shorter than I experienced with earlier Stradic reels. I have only tried this reel/spool with mono Xt 10lb as I am waiting for my replacement. I have 8 other Stradic reels in various sizes and do not have a problem with any of them thou they are 1 to 3 years old.
