  1. I checked the data plate after work and it says it’s rated for a 75hp (390lb max) motor. yes it’s a 17’ model
  2. So I was looking to upgrade the motor on my 2006 Pro Team TX to something stronger. Currently has the 25 hp 4 stroke, and I’m looking into the 60hp’s. Talked to the guy that runs the marine shop that winterizes my boat (mercury franchise), and he thought that going up would be too much weight added to the back of that boat, making the waterline too high and letting water come over the back when moving. So for you guys that are using a larger motor, have you seen where this has been a problem? Is this a legitimate concern, or is he just trying to get me in a different boat rather than getting a different motor?
