  1. It's only been a month since I took my last paddle/cast in the canoe and I'm itching for some new tackle. Parents always give me some money for Christmas, easier than picking gifts. Have to wait until then to scratch that itch.
  2. We're on one of our 'winter rollercoasters'. Next few days lows in the single digits, highs in the low twenties, then later in the week, lows in the low twenties, highs near 30. Typical early December for us - oh, and we have a couple inches of snow on the ground and the ice fishermen are setting up portables on the smaller lakes/bays.
  3. Or a canoe in case you want to take someone with you.
  4. Why limit it - All Hail Animalia, we will overcome Plantae
  5. USAF 1980-84 from a line of service members including the person in my profile pic (see my profile)
  6. ...but not to Bass fishing. I caught my first Bass back in the late 60s on a lake local to where I was living at the time. I'm not exclusive on my targets as I also went after panfish and trout with equal zeal. With leaving the workforce (not my choice) and the purchase of a canoe in the past year, now I have time to both fish and talk about fishing. Hope to learn new techniques that will help me net bigger/more fish.
  7. I was talking specifically about Bass fishing and the relationship between fisher and fish. In this instance, my point was exact...Bass don't prey upon Humans, we're above them in the food chain.
  8. Human = Predator Bass = Prey If you're worried about what a Bass feels, how can you be anything other than a vegetarian? Fish are several levels below mammals on the taxonomic table so it's not worth worrying about.
