  1. I use braid to the swivel with a tungsten bullet weight. Flouro leader. Fast tip heavy action rod. When I reel up the slack after the drag I reel at the same “speed” as I bring the rod forward. This keeps the line pretty tight and seems to help with bite detection. I could be doing it wrong.
  2. If you are referring to algae getting all gunked up at the line tie...drop shot is THE way to go. The weight gets crudded up, but keeping the line semi tight to tight keeps the lure above and clean.
  3. Dang. Was hoping that they’d be cheaper than the others paddle tails out there. Are they any tougher? Any apparent differences from rage swimmers or keitecs?
  4. Routinely throw the 1/4 with casting in all conditions (except heavy wind). And have good success. But I would hate to be missing bites by not going lighter. Gonna try 3/16 tungsten. Might even be able to cast it with light casting gear. ? (I know...stubborn)
  5. Hoping I wouldn’t hear that. ? Spinning gear and I don’t get along very well.
  6. I have researched shaky heads all over the web. Seems like the favorite shaky head for a tough bite is either 1/8 or 3/16 oz. I’ve always used a 1/4oz tungsten because I can feel the bottom so well. I don’t like 1/8 at all...I just never seem to be able to feel anything with it. Do y’all find that you get more bites with the 3/16oz?
  7. Purchased a number of them. All from their distribution center, which means they are shipped in the thick tubes and done right. Havent has any issues yet.
  8. Sure looks like side scan won’t work with that setup. Not a technician, though.
