  1. Looks like a little to much motor for that boat set up. Insurance should be cheap.
  2. I ended up taking the plunge. Ended up with a EC70MHF and ES66MF. He sold the EC66 :'( They look great and cant wait to use them. He just got 6 Elite 07 demos in, trying to get dips on them early for next spring.
  3. I have a chance to get two St.Croix Elite series demo rods for $120 each EC70mhf and EC66mhf from a local shop. They are stamped demo and have a july 06 date on them. They are in excellent shape and know the person that used them and he didnt use them much due to being a Loomis fan. My question is there would be no warranty(the shop will cover untill july 07)and is this still a good deal seeing that these are over 300 new? Just Curious, I hate to pass it up. :-/
  4. Congrats, What did you get in it? I didnt finish mine till I was 28 :
  5. I need three more rods, I would love to get three more avids but have a ton of other stuff I need to spend money on. I guess should I just wait till I have the extra money for the avids? What about the premier series? I have heard bad things. :-/
  6. Just wondering if anyone is using them and what you think. I see they are on sale for $79 normally $119 seems like a decent deal. I am just starting to built up gear and looking for something decent at a good price. I have a avid ac66mf and ac70mf and still need a couple more rods. I just want a good rod that is sensitive and wont break, is to high of a graphite rating mean it will break easier? just wonderign seems the more sensitive the weaker it would become. Thanks to all Steve

  9. I searched around and could not come up with a good list of terminal tackle that is needed. I am looking to get a good set up and pretty much a newb. I know I need differnt hooks, but weights(worm, sinker, screw in), beads, swivels(ball bearing or regular) split rings, rattles and so on :-/. What do I need to cover the bases. Thanks
  10. Hello, I am looking to get a good set up of rod/reel combo and need some advice to cover the basics. I currenty have 2 Shimanos symeter 2500's and a Quantum energy pt 7.0:1 which I got from my wife on xmas. I dont have a pole for the baitcaster. I am using two 6'6 Clarus rods for the spinning reels. I got got into bass fishing heavy last spring and used mostly spinning reels and borrowed a friends baitcaster which I learned to love. I plan on getting another baitcaster in 5.1:1 this spring. Now finally to my questions. What rod is best going to suit both of the reels? I know I cant cover all styles of with only fours set ups but would like to do the best as possible. I think I would like to us the 5.1:1 for crankbaits mostly and not even sure for the 7.0:1 Any help would be great. I might add a fifth set up too if $ also but dont know as to what would be best. I would like to have a set up for frogs/ top water too is the 7.0:1 good for this? Steve
