Anybody Ever Get Caught Without Their License?
I have been checked, even at the high volume fishing areas. Guess I am lucky? I buy my license every single year no matter what. I don't see why people try to get away with it. I live in CT and for all waters I think its 65 dollars. That's a whole lot better than losing 5000 in fishing gear, not counting the boat. I know this topic is on fishing licenses. But, if your a younger guy and plan on buying a boat in the future or already have one. Do you self a favor, make sure you have ALL the required safety equipment/licenses.

frog rod and topwater under 100$ each
Looking for suggestions on a new frog and top water rod. 7' 1" to 7' 3" for the frog and 6' 6" for a top water. I have a duckett now for my frog rod but I hate it. My top water is a lews 6' 10" but the tip hits the water when trying to work spooks. Would like to spend under 200 for both. Thanks!

Fishing with Old Timers
Went fishing with a friend on their family vacation because one of their boats broke down so I took mine up to the lake. I was fishing with my buddy's dad and he complained the entire time. It was either to weedy not enough weeds to windy not enough wind. He refused to let me graph new areas and refused any of my ideas to switch things up. I caught a limit and he caught zero. By the end of the day he was so grumpy that he no longer wanted to fish.

New battery recommendations
Thank you. I fish anywhere from 6-12 hours, having something reliable to run the electronics and crank is worth a little extra money. The interstates in the boat now have 2013 stickers so they are ready to be switched out. Scared the **** out of myself last year, my motor would not crank and I was about 700 feet from a rock dam in fast moving current. I keep tools and did a quick switch to the trolling battery's got me out of that situation, thankfully. All of my electronics switched off and I could not crank the motor. Never checked the voltage but I would assume it was fairly low. 525 is in my budget, if I have to spend a little extra for reliability, ill be a happy man.

New battery recommendations
Hey everyone, Looking to get all new battery's for my 98 ranger 518dvs. I need some opinions on what sizes and brands. Last year I killed my cranking battery after about 6 hours on the water. I had to put a 4th battery to run the electronics this was kind of annoying because I only have a 3 bank charger. I would like to stick with 3 battery's. Also would like to stay under 500 bucks for all 3. Electronics Johnson venom 200hp 2 8ft power poles 2 helix 9s 1 helix 7 ultrex 80 thrust 24v hummingbird 360 transducer Thanks!

Strange But True Fish Tales
My home town has a boat launch that goes into the CT river. Last week a fishermen called in that he saw a body floating down river. First responders took off to recover it, it was half of a manikin floating.

Stealing a pros spot during a tournament
Thanks everyone for their response, I did not mean for the post to become "drama", as a new tournament angler I was curious on how these things work. The best way I knew how was to give a scenario. I don't come from a fishing background I started myself on it. All this information was soaked in. Thanks again to the Vet anglers that chimed in. Tight lines.

Stealing a pros spot during a tournament
I agree, some of these top tier pros are very arrogant. Also two sides to a story, these guys leave their homes and family, spend a ton of money and effort to make it to a tournament. Then spend hours behind a graph to find underwater structure. Then the 100k check is dangled in front of them and next thing you know a couple of guys watching the live stream jump in their boat and start fishing that spot as soon as he leaves (that's what this situation looked like). I can see why someone could get angry at that.

Lowrance or Humminbird
Bought the boat bundle from lowrance, I took those units off in about a month and switch to humminbird. (new to boating and electronics so I am not picky on brand). I found the touch screens very slow and some times unresponsive. (HDS 9 and 7 gen 3). The newer units I heard are a lot faster. Installation of the lowrance units was painless with the nema connectors. I now have 3 units from humminbird 2 helix 9s with mega SI g2n and a helix 7 g2n. Humminbird gets expensive quick with all the accessories needed to link all the units up (also running a 360 transducer). My suggestion is, play with the units at your local BPS or cabelas before buying. Both amazing products, it just comes down to your preference.

I couldn't believe someone in 2nd place could just pack up and leave. If I was his sponsor I would be ripping up that contract.

How to fish muddy/weedy lakes?
Flip that submerged milfoil. 1/2ounce pegged with a Texas rigged craw. Cast and pop pop pop that bait.

Is it really? Have you seen any articles on this any where?

What are your fishing goals for 2019?
1. learn how to spot grass lines on the graphs 2. fish some tournaments 3. catch a limit often 4. stay away from Cabela's fishing section

In a perfect world this would work. Unfortunately, some anglers are to greedy to care about anyone else.

Absolute proof that bass can be conditioned and trained.
Read an article a while back on another forum where the gentlemen didn't like when the tournament crowd came to fish beds during the spawn. So, he trained the 5lb female off his dock to not attack his bait. He said he would throw tons of hookless baits at her. He said after about an hour or two she wouldn't bite a thing. Not sure how true it was. Could have been a fish story, but I thought it was interesting.

Stealing a pros spot during a tournament
Toxic Some voodoo magic just happened, I was actually reading one of your comments on another thread about tackle sales, then you commented haha! Anyway, I am very surprised these guys conduct themselves in such manners. At what point does their sponsor say something to them. That can't be good publicity for the label.

Stealing a pros spot during a tournament
I am really enjoying everyone's point a view. I agree, if your on the lake and see someone pulling up 20lb bags, then they leave! Not every day you get a chance to smack some big ones like that. These tournament guys have their own unwritten rules, they would like for them to apply to the weekend warrior.
