Your favorite baitcaster between $200-300
My tatulas have been my favorite reel purchase. If you between reels go to tackle warehouse and do the rental program. You can try any reel they have available.

Trolling Motor Thrust vs Speed
On the lowest setting you'll barely even feel the boat moving. I have a 19ft ranger fiberglass and my ultrex 80 thrust on setting one wont even move the boat.

Bass Boat --> Kayak
I have never made the switch from bass boat to kayak, thought about it. But, in my opinion I don't think I could go without my boat. I have a kayak and my ranger. The wife likes to go out on the kayaks every once and a while. I enjoy having the two. If you have the garage space I would keep the boat.

CAUGHT MY PERSONAL BEST YESTERDAY!
Congratulations! I started taking bass fishing serious a couple years ago. I caught a 4lber on top water, my heart was going a mile a minute. I bragged to my fishing buddy for a half a day in till the next morning he caught a 5 plus. I haven't heard the end of it. Tight lines. Ryan

Respecting Elderly Fisherman
Had an elderly gentlemen come over to me and asked about my newer rods and reels. He then showed me his old (very well taken care of) pistol grip rods he has had for a long time. We had a great conversation about the lake and fishing. Haven't seen him since but it would be awesome to go out fishing with him. I do agree with the gentlemen that mentioned having no so pleasant of an experience with trout fishermen, obviously not all are bad. I joined a small trout club a couple years ago when I was at my first duty station, after signing up the older members told me I would have to peel potatoes with the teenage kids during the yearly dinner while they smoked cigars and drank brandy... no thanks.

Jack of all trades..master of none!
I try to stick with conditions and season. I always have a drop shot, wacky rig and Texas rig on the deck. The conditions and structure of the day will drive the rest of the baits I will try. I enjoy using every tool in the tool box, my wallet doesn't though!

Why is bass fishing so addicting?
I love being the first one on the water, there is just something special about a summer sunrise and a coffee while blasting off to your favorite spot.

Funny Fishing Stories
Last April I went out to a local lake to get the boat started for the first time. New England springs can be really cold, this day was about 40 degrees out. As I launched the boat the wind started to pick up. I floated about 400 yards from the launch casting at a drop off. My fingers started to freeze so I decided to wrap it up and motor back in. I cranked the motor a couple of times but I could not get it to start. I got on the trolling motor and managed to make it back to the launch, the wind was so bad that the boat kept spinning out of control. With out the big motor I could not get the boat on to the trailer. Every time I got the boat far enough out to pull it onto the trailer I started spinning in circles. I made the decision to get into the water and center it. After about 10 minutes of fighting the boat in freezing cold water, I final got in on. I couldn't feel my legs or hands, I towed the boat home frustrated and cold. The next day I hooked up the hose and tried diagnosing the issue. Guess what? The fuel selector valve was turned to off. Lets just say it took a couple of days for me to laugh about the situation!

Stupid pitching question
Flipping docks is my absolute favorite. I use a 7' MH with 17lb floro and no bigger than 1/2 ounce tungsten. Get used to one reel for flipping and it will become muscle memory.

Funny Fishing Stories
Little off topic but the same thing happened to me this weekend. My father in law just bought brand new corn hole boards. He had just painted them and put decals on, he had to find the perfect dry spot with no dirt to put them. He bent down to readjust the board and his entire red solo cup full of beer went all over them. I nearly had a heart attack laughing!

When You Were A Kid....
My dad was stationed in the pan handle of Florida we fished in the ocean often. My earliest memories was catching fish off a bridge, I remember my mom cutting up bait for the hooks. My first bass was at a motocross track, the pond they used to water the track had so many 2lbs you could catch two fish on a crankbait fairly often, after that I was addicted. I didn't start really getting into bass fishing in till my late teens and early 20s. When I came back from the military, I started shore fishing and worked my way to a glitter rocket.

when a warranty is a joke
You don't believe people are entitled to their hard worked money? If your company sells a junk product they are at fault not the customer. Maybe you should reread your vision and mission statement. What happen to costumer first?

Best spinning setup
If I could only pick one spinning rod it would be a 6' 10" st Croix medium with a Pflueger president. This a good set up for around 180 dollars.

Good deal, yes or no?
Fair deal for both sides, I think 2300 plus is a reach.

I got my first boat!
Make sure the tires, lug nuts, lights, wheel bearings and winch are all in good working condition. Nothing ruins a fishing day like a wheel falling of your trailer, trust me. If you don't know how to tow/back up a trailer make sure you practice before hitting the ramp. Always prepare your boat to launch before you back it in. Get all your required safety gear, Walmart has a good selection. Make sure you get your boating license and registration. Watch out for wake boats in a smaller craft.. Have fun and congratulations!
