  1. I think the holes in the bottom would work better to keep them from rooting imho.
  2. So....basically what this means is we don't catch the smart ones??

I really do appreciate all the responses and info. Like I said, I haven't ever used one and know nothing about them. I wouldn't have thought about having to check the laws about there use or using trailers etc.. learned a lot..thanks fellows..

    Appreciate all the info..wow..
  6. Daiwa, Abu Garcia and I have some old open face Penn reels I really like. Penn was popular when I was younger and that was pretty much what I used. Of course probably like most people, my first reel was a Zebco 33 about 40 years ago.
  7. I forgot about them lol. I agree with you.
  8. A friends dad left home early one morning to go fishing and never made it back home. His truck was found at a popular boat ramp with the boat still on the trailer. Apparently he had pulled to the side to get ready to unload his boat and that was the last of him. So yeah I see a reason to carry. He was alone at a dark ramp that was well used and someone still managed to take him. Sometimes the boogie man does exists.

Does anyone here use or have used a umbrella rig? I don't know anything about them and would like to try one out. Any advice is welcomed.
  11. Do Garmins sync up to any trolling motors or no? Thank you for the info
  12. This may be a dumb question, but why not just use a hook with weight and float it on a bobber?
  13. Hi fellow fishers. Eventually I plan on having a shallow water anchor system and would like to have some advice/opinions on the 2 mentioned. Pros/cons? I know it'll depend on what boat it's used on, I would just like to know which is prefered and why. Thank you for your help.
  14. Most boats I've owned have been mod v hulls and I haven't ever felt uneasy because of the weather. To me the mod v's are more stable than deep v hulls when standing/walking around(mine was just a simple 14ft rig).
  15. Dead milkmen...been ages since I've heard that name
