This is a research question. right now I have Abu Garcia and shannon, and Lews rods. I am wanting to get two great rod brands and have that to be my arsenal. st croix and a few other rods like Millers are out there and are pricey. my wife and I have agreed that I can buy a new rod ever other month till I can get my set ups the way I want them. In all I will be getting about 4-6 rods. And before I start this in Aug I want to get opinion from people who us different rods. I am good with my reels just looking to change my rod set up. I am a disabled vet and had emailed the guy that makes rods for vets and he was backed up. Haven't heard from him in a while. So that where I stand right now.

Ok I know people catch fish on them. However I never have. I have thrown white black green and different colors. I know blades come into play. Don't know if my retrieve is wrong. I have thrown and let sink some and retrieved back. Just need advice. Thanks

With there Gators I have seen on that lake. You would never get me on it in a kayak

Could get a friend go with you to the boat dock unload the boat and you go fishing and let him replace the bunks lol. Then take him fishing when done lol

Thanks for the info. The motor does idle well it was just putting it in gear it would died but after several trys it would go and run good. But yesterday when I played with the tram it did a lot better. I think the way I was traming it all the was down was getting everything out of level like you was talking about.

Ok I have maybe found the problem just want input. when I tram my motor down it does not have the pin that stops it at a certain point. on my poontoon and other boat I have seen a pin in one of the 5 or 6 holes where the motor teams down. Is it possible they my motor is tramed to far down In the water. Reason I am asking is yesterday I tramed it up to the 1st hole under the motor and it seemed to run better and did not die when Putin it in gear after the warm up lever was put down. I am taken it out tomorrow again and hope it is fixed. Any input is greatly appreciated. thanks

Well today I had garlic on my hands. And well I baited up and 3 cast later pulled in a 17" 1.42lb LM. Before the garlic nothing. but when I baited up with it. there was the bite. Caught 2 miss a few more Cant get pics on here says they are too big.

Have you seen anyone else catching fish where you are fishing Yes and one of the guys on here I have messaged told me it's a really good lake. But I seam to have trouble where ever I go

I am a disabled veteran. I am having a really hard time catching bass. I live in wv. I am wanting to learn plum orchard lake. I will have the boat or we can take yours. Is there anyone willing to go fish there with me and help me learn the lake and maybe tell me what I am doing wrong. thanks

Ok I know this may have been on here before. But I am really struggling to catch bass. I went today and put flo carbon leaders on my braid poles. I am just wandering if it maybe my scent. I am on a few medications from my PTSD and issues from being in the gulf war. Just wander if that may have changed something in my chemistry that they smell on my bait. I have heard spray sun block on them or WD40. Was wandering if any of you use anything on your bait. I have even thought about using rubber gloves. any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. maybe I just dont know how to fish.

Me and my dad are really wanting to go up to lake moomaw soon. I hope its worth the trip. I here there is some really good fishing there. Hope to get there in the next week or so.

I have a 86 evenrude. With muffs hooked up it runs fine. In the water it starts great I can run it up and down the lake but when you go the shift from neutral to Forward it does it like you have to trick it to go. It idles good but when you put the warm up stick down and shift to forward it want to die. Any advice? Ps. It's a 115 HP
