Hi All! I am adding a BFS setup to the arsenal this summer. I have seen some solid reviews and recos on the Kast King Zephyr reel. Seems to be a good option for a budget reel, and it ships to US locations right now. I am looking for some feedback on rod options however. I know that Diawa and some other JDM manufactures are best in class. However, its been difficult to get them to ship to the US right now. Also not sure it makes sense to pair at 300$ rod with a budget reel. Are there any recommendations from the community on some other rods that may pair well and are also able to ship to US locations? Hoping to keep that in the 100-200$ range! Toss out anything you have heard, I would love to do some further research on my own!! Thanks everyone

Hey there everyone, Looking to learn a little more about what brands everyone prefers for braided line. Ive been using Power Pro for the last few seasons, but am considering a change. Not that there is anything in particular I dislike about Power Pro, I just havent had any experience using any other brands. What brands do you you folks use? Why do you prefer them over others? Has anyone else made a switch like this before, and what were your reasons? Thanks everyone!!

I friend of mine caught his new PB last weekend - a 7,4. Its definitely the fish of a lifetime and I would like to get him something to commemorate. I was not with him at the time as he lives in another state so I was hoping to get something that could be delivered to his house. Anyone have any ideas? Has anyone ever done something like this before? any advice appreciated!

Hey everyone, I am looking to plan a long weekend trip to clear lake CA in the spring with a buddy. He will be coming from Utah, and I will be joining from Michigan. We're interested in renting a boat for some time while we are there. Does anyone have any recommendations for local shops or marinas that rent to the public? The results from google haven't been promising, hoping someone with local knowledge may be able to help out! Any information on how to make this trip a success would be awesome. Thanks!

I'd be the friend mentioned in the OP ha! I love the thornapple for the multiple public access points. Last summer I frequented Camp Lake and Wabasis north of town, I plan to begin fishing north of the city much more next summer. What are some of your favorites up that way?
