Fishing line capacity math…
If I had to use a short spool I'd lay out the old line in the yard, then wind on the short spool, connect to the old line and top it off, then lay it out in the yard and reverse it.

Do I need a 8 or 7’6 rod to cast 1/32 lures or will 6’6 get it done?
I'd go with 2 poles for what you want to do. My small stream trout rod is a 6ft UL and usually use 2# mono throwing 1/64th oz hand tied fly jigs.

Best frogging reel
Certainly not the best or lightest, but have been using a revo toro 51 on my repurposed 7'6" H telescopic that I use for light musky baits and slop. Casts frogs as far as I'd care to reel in and on 65# braid. Great reel, smooth with power to spare. If I was a diehard slopper I'd go lighter.

DC705CB vs. AVC70MHM
The DC705CB arrived yesterday and put the bantam on it. First impressions, it felt it was a little heavier than the avid. Similar blank properties, the epoxy on the guide wraps is much thicker on the dobyns. There were a few dabs of epoxy on the blank that my fingers felt and had to bring out the magnifier to make sure they weren't nicks. Overall it seems to be of similar quality.

Bantam vs. 2020 Metanium
I finally received my DC705CB, paired with the bantam it throws my 1/8 oz cranks fine on 14# fluoro. It needs a little more thumbing than my 101 conquest did but am pleased so far. Nice little reel, as smooth as I'd hoped for. I'll have to try a metanium next season.

Bantam vs. 2020 Metanium
Well duh, of course you can. SoCal guys only need a rowboat and a treble hook. ?

Bantam vs. 2020 Metanium
Thanks, I have my rod on the way and put it on a 66 ml to play with it. Throwing a 1/8 oz crank it took more tuning than I'm used to. Hopefully the 705b cr will throw it better.

Bantam vs. 2020 Metanium
I bought one Saturday from japan and had it in my hands yesterday. The chronarch is a solid reel, still have a 101a that I use.

Bantam vs. 2020 Metanium
I watched an in depth review of the bantam. One of the suggested issues with it was the short distance between the spool and line guide. The reel was squirrelly when using 14# fluorocarbon, and casting distance while good, isn't the best. Anyone here have issues using fluoro with the bantam? I've got a lifetime supply of 14# so that's all I use on my crankbait rod.

Poor customer service!
Way to go John! I admire your non sporting goods purchases?
-
Poor customer service!
Its not so much hiding as surprising. Now hiding would be when she asks about details of a bachelor party, some things are best left unsaid. Bring on those pitchforks! Homewreckers Tackle forked me once, I can take it. But, let's not forget that I, flat, am the victim here.

Poor customer service!
I was referring to tackle retailers as hustlers- sorry for the confusion. Kudos to you for getting approval before purchasing. My wife knows disapproval on sporting gear is futile.
-
Poor customer service!
No offense but I believe this one is over your head. All you future rod hustlers take notice- refund and email good, ratting out customer to his wife- bad.
-
Poor customer service!
A funny note, I ordered the same rod from another business and was just notified by email that it was not available. Oh well, back to analog shopping.

Poor customer service!
Oh geeze, ouch!
