Opinions needed on boat cover/vents
I think it's more condensation, but it's a lot. I've got it tented, there's no pooling and if there is, it's very minimal.

Opinions needed on boat cover/vents
Do you think adding two boat vents to my current cover would help? I'm hoping we have a new house within the year, equipped with garage for the boat, so don't really want to buy a new fancy cover and really only use it for a year. Do you have any experience with adding vents? I just worry about making a mistake I can't fix.

Opinions needed on boat cover/vents
I have two areas propped up that seem to limit any pooling to minimal or none at all. It beads well, but the whole underside of the cover is dripping wet. The trim switch is something I got off Amazon. The first was original. I just have it unplugged at the bow now. I assume moisture got in where the wires were and shorted it I guess. The inside of all my compartments are also soaking wet. I've put rechargeable dehumidifier beads in the big compartments on the bow but the moisture is no match for them. This only becomes a headache when it rains for days in a row, like this week we've had just about 4 days of non stop wetness. Most of the time, the single day of showers isn't bad and if needed I can take the cover off the next day to air it out.

Opinions needed on boat cover/vents
Hi all, Quick question about why my boat cover allows so much water inside. I have a canvas trailerable cover that I used silicone waterproof spray made for tents, clothes, covers, etc on. It's been raining like hell the last couple days and my bow trim switch just got shorted again due to water getting in. The silicone spray is made for tents and stuff, so it's still gotta let the cover breath, right? The water beads off the cover great, but the carpet and seats are no less wet than before the spray. I really need a d**n garage and I know this, but for the time being this is the set up I've got. I'm thinking about adding two vents in the cover (Vico Boat Vent III's), but really hesitant about putting holes in the cover and potentially making it worse. Please let me know any and all advice you have from y'all's experiences. Thank you very much.

Lower motor unit oil question
Hi all, I have a 2 stroke 50 hp Mercury outboard that I'm changing the lower unit oil in within the next few weekends before taking it out again. I have 0.5 quart left from last year and my question is, is it okay to use this same quart or does this oil go bad? On the same note I have some left over marine grade grease that I used for the wheel bearings last year. Can I use this again as well? Thank you guys! P.s. this is my 2nd year with the boat so I'm still new

Bow mounted trolling motor issue?
Thanks for the comment! I have a voltmeter, I assume set it to ohms and red meter wire goes to the red on the motor and black wire goes to a ground or piece of metal? I was also seeing things about a possible switch being the culprit, do you have experience with that?

Bow mounted trolling motor issue?
So I looked up how to do this and went out to try it. I also went through all 5 speeds again, but now it sounds like speed 3,4,5 sound the same. And after I twerked with the timing, same thing happens. Does this provide anymore insight as to what's happening? Here's the underside of my foot pedal also.

Yes! And it was clean as a whistle.

Bow mounted trolling motor issue?
I have a 46# thrust Motor guide pro series mounted on a used 2010 bass tracker that I bought last year. I have it stored in my driveway (no garage) with a boat cover on it. I've already had a problem with the bow tilt switch shorting out due to water leaking in. The tilt switch and the wires to the trolling motor are right next to each other, so maybe something similar is occuring. But the problem is that I feel like my trolling motor is much slower than it used to be. I have a brand new battery and I've taken the trolling motor and gone through all 5 speeds when out of the water and I can hear a faint change in pitch, but not a major one. I'm just wondering how I should go about testing this myself and what y'all would do. Thank you!
