  1. As a former Asst. Scoutmaster w/the BSA for 12 years (both of my sons are Eagles), I have done a lot of tent camping and used a few different models. For versatility and longevity its hard to beat an Eurkea Timberline SQ tent. I have used mine for over 12 years through ALL kinds of weather and NO leaks! REI makes great tents too. I have used their Half Dome tents and they are high quality. Any more questions feel free to message me.
  2. I've used Sufix 832 and PP for years. No issue with either. I use 832 for my spinning reels and bass BC's and PP for my musky BC's.
  3. I have my Met on a SC LE and love it! I tried it on other less expensive rods but it was like putting a Ferrari engine in my Subaru Forester.
  4. @Motoboss, thanks for the response. I normally purchase higher end rods but this fits the bill for a travel rod to leave behind the seat of the truck.
  5. I recently purchased a Shimano Convergence 7MF 2-piece rod and have been pleased with it. I paid $ 40.00 for mine since it was on sale but Cabela's/BPS has them for $ 70.00 I believe.
  6. @Motoboss, I got to try it out last night at a local quarry and caught a 2 lb. LM bass on it. I am pleased with it. I primarily bought it as a travel rod and a rod that if something happened to it I wouldn't be upset. For a 2 piece rod I thought the sensitivity was decent. I made some hard casts seeing if it would separate and it didn't. I think I'll be more than happy with it especially for what it costs. Thanks, Randy
  7. Yes @brophog . For a $ 40.00 travel rod I thought what the heck. I haven't been able to try it yet so I'm looking forward to it.
  8. Thanks to @Motoboss, @brophog and @Reel for the information! Randy
  9. I primarily use GY senko's and due to their cost like to use them until they break or are lost. I'm wondering though, do they loose their effectiveness after using the same worm multiple cast/days?
  10. Guys, Needed some more wacky hooks (I like the EWG 2.0) and saw that BPS has their XPS Wide Gap Wacky hooks on sale. I noticed they were made in France. I usually buy Gamakatsu hooks but thought I'd try these. Anyone used them yet?
  11. I know it's a little over your budget but I agree with others that recommended the Daiwa Revros. I have three of them. I have used them hard and no issues.
  12. I think the new Regal only weighs 7.1 oz in the 2500 size.
  13. I have the Vanford 1000 paired to a SC Avid 70 L/EF panfish rod and I have been very pleased with it for throwing tiny jigs/small baits.
  14. @Kow, @FishTank, and @brophog, thanks for the replies. I realize it's not a Stradic but it's not Stradic $$ either. Regards, Randy
  15. I tried to look at previous posts prior to asking about this reel but I didn't see too much. Looking for an all around, relatively inexpensive, multi-species spinning reel for a travel rod. I can get one for $ 63.00. How do they hold up? Good with braid? Any experiences appreciated. Randy
