  1. I’m just going to keep it real, I’m lowkey starting to regret selling it. It def probably was the braid looking into it. Imma probably just buy another. I can get a new one for 437.
  2. I’ll have to try. If I can’t find anything I’m willing to get a rod custom built.
  3. See, that’s what I what I was going for at first but so many people said it feels like medium. I’m looking for more of a ml but I’d really like to feel one in person. I also think the braid I was using slightly hindered distance. I just overall would like a longer rod.
  4. I’m looking for a new ned rod and the 7’ light seems like the rod for the job. I used to own a NRX+ 821 NRR but I sold it. I thought it was overkill. Never was a great caster. My friends Landsat always outcasted me. Sensitivity was great, but that was expected. I also am looking for more length in a Ned rig rod. Besides that I also got a killer deal on a 822 DSR. I’m looking for a Ned rod around 7’ and 7’3, which is where the expride lies. I’m also very open to suggestions on ned rods aswell.
  5. I’m not going to out this person because of this. I’m a little confused still myself about this situation because in reality I didn’t think the DC was broken, and I ended up being right. We’re human and make mistakes. The real test (no pun intended) is when I take it out on the water, and see how it fishes. That’s when I’ll know how the service is. He’s been very good with communication and such and I’ll give an update on how the reel performs after I get it back.
  6. UPDATE: He figured out why the DC wasn’t working. He said the the dial was in between settings. So the reel is good.
  7. Before I sent it to him, I didn’t even notice it was broken. Makes the sound when I cast. I just wanted to get my reel annually serviced. I thought it was. When I sent my reel my only implication was to get it serviced. I thought it was fine. When I get it back I’m going to look at it.
  8. This is exactly why I’m confused too. He just told me it’s shot.
  9. I sent my reel in to get serviced by a reputable guy. He just informed me that my metanium’s DC brakes are broken/shot. How could I have possibly done this? I’ve had this real for a year and a half and have taken really good care of it, so idk how this even happened. I spent $500 on this reel too so I would like to address and fix it.
  10. How is everyone’s experience getting their reels serviced by Shimano?
  11. Which one of these would you choose for a frog rod. I can only choose between 1 of them. Primarily used for frogs, but can double as a flipping and magdraft rod. Alot of people rave about the 7’3 XH for frogs but some say it doesn’t have the tip to walk the frog. That confuses me considering it is a mod-fast. I throw mainly Spro bronzeye 65’s and pop 60’s.
  12. Narrowed it down on my own time to the 843c MBR vs the 7’2 MH expride. Which would y’all choose between the two?
  13. What rod would you use to throw a Texas rig with a weight between 3-16 to 5-16 oz?
  14. Anyone have any insight on this rod to give. Wanna use it for 1.5’s mainly but also lipless cranks and sometimes mid-divers.
  15. I want a rod that can mainly throw 1.5’s. Does the 845 load up on casts with them, or do I need to drop to the 843. I had the Champ XP 705 CB and I hated casting 1.5’s because it didn’t load. I also want to throw lipless baits but the main focus is 1.5’s, like the ones made by strike king, lucky craft, 6th sense, and more.
