Spinnerbait mold options
Yes I have tried mold releases and do not like them. I find I have to heat my molds more with mold release compared to mold releases. I have a walking weight that the smaller size weights won't pore the top part of the weight with the mold release. I have also been sailing my spinnerbaits and jigs for 15 years now. Some on eBay and some in local tackle shops in Idaho. I don't have my business up and running Gin since the move to Michigan. So yes I have experience with mold releases and stand by what I said to begin with. It all depends on a persons likes and dislikes and I prefer smoking my molds to buying expensive mold releases thank you very much. I have 30 molds I pore right mow and I am working on adding another 15 molds to my work. Being new to Michigan I am talking to Bass nation to see what it will take to set up at their events to sale my product. Where I lived in Moscow Idaho you had two lakes. Dworshak to the south about 45 miles for large smallmouth. The state record was broke twice in a year with 10+ pound bass. Can't remember the ounces. Smallmouth getting big and fat on to many Coho salmon for the like. Most Coho in the lake are 4 to 7 inches long. Perfect for a fat smallmouth. Then there is lake Coeur d' Alene to the north and it has been fished by Shaw Grisby on his show. That lake has smallmouth but the largemouth and northern pike are the main fish in the lake. Again about 50 miles north of Moscow. To each their own and what works for some doesn't work for others. That's what is so wonderful about this world. we all have our own way of doing things. Be pretty boring if we all did the same thing. What a wonderful world we live in. Everyone have a great day and better tomorrow. Thank you for your time and consideration. Kelly

Stop spending your money on expensive drop out mold release. Do-it molds recommends right in their instructions says to use a candle and smoke the molds. I have been using this method for years and have never had a problem and a pack of candles is a lot cheaper then the stuff in a can. When you soot on your mold make sure you also do the side of the mold where you pour the lead. Your lead will pour better and you will have a cleaner pour into the molds. I had a tackle company in Idaho but since moving to Michigan I have not had time to start it back up yet. I have 28 molds and plan to add to them. I pour all winter so I have enough equipment for the summer and depending on how much I give away I don't have to worry about lures during the fishing season. I believe do-it molds tells you how to smoke your molds but if not here. Hold the mold above the candle and keep moving it closer to the flame until it starts putting down a dark black layer of soot. You will have to experiment with how close to hold the candles as I have found different candle makers candles start smoking at different distances. Use gloves as the mold will get warm and you will be able to use it right away. Do-it molds recommends warming the molds before you start pouring lead or tin. I hope this helps and I recommend you at least try it and see how it works. I believe you will quit buying the expensive spray releases. I also have some poured heads I can send you. They will be bullet heads. I like them for the way they come through weeds. I have heads up to an ounce. Do you have everything you need to finish of the spinnerbaits? Can you make buzzbaits? I have some of those heads poured also if you would like to put a couple of them together. All I want in return is for you to tell others how well my lures work or write me a little testimony. I don't know what sizes I have left but I will send you a couple of each just PM me and we can chat. Thank you for your time and consideration. Kelly
