Lure pic thread. Lets see something unique
That is gorgeous! Also how you have them laid out in the box, its very pleasant on the eyes! I don't know, maybe I'm weird. But these pics like this really are like art to me. That has alot going on. I imagine it looks amazing in the water!

Lure pic thread. Lets see something unique
That has seen some use for sure!! I had a Cordell super spot with teeth marks from a walleye that I was so sad when it got hung and lost. Being a bank angler none of my lipless survive long enough to get to the condition of yours!!

Lure pic thread. Lets see something unique
I love looking at lures. Threads like the found lures thread is amazing and I thought why not let people show off prize lures, swimbaits, hand made or one off lures. That or a big and trailer combo you dont see. To me this is worthy of a frame and hung on the wall. I just love how it looks matched up and by god it catches fish!

Naked Bladed Jig For Fall Bass ?
Ive tried it once in a river because I heard striper like them. I didnt catch any but I read they are good on flats when the bass are schooling and feeding.

The Skunk Award Goes To…
Lipless used to be my go to moving bait until I got my first jackhammer and now that's what I go to, but with it getting cold I'll tie on a lipless again. Ive never done the yo yo retrieve, especially letting it sink to the bottom and yo yo-ing off the bottom. Ive always been a straight retrieve with some rod tip raises guy.

Quick list of baits I can’t catch a fish on. 1.5 year time-Span.
Chatterbait is my go to moving bait and was a good producer for me. Berkley Choppo (whopper plopper) was my best topwater. Caught a few on a dark sleeper. Everything else on the list I'm in the same boat. Probably won't use them next year.

The Skunk Award Goes To…
For me it was the A Rig. I tried different paddletails in different colors, in different bodies of water and never got a sniff. I thought they were so good they were banned?? I put it down, picked up a Jackhammer, and caught fish. I'm on the jig train too in that I dont have much luck with them. This year I threw them more but still not alot. I got some finesse jigs and used small trailers, I tried big ones with rage craws, and the only thing I caught with was a swim jig.

what about no wind, u can hear every sound, water like a sheet of glass?
To me I would pick up a ned rig with a minimum of a 1/10oz jighead, or lighter. Small splash, not much action, but fish eat them up.

Need a better flourocarbon option....
Thank you and I have been trying to get better at just fishing and not lure hoarding. That or thinking I won't catch anything on my old stuff and need the newest and latest lures. But I would like new line for my sake and not the fish. For invisibility under water I ran straight braid for a few years on everything and never had a problem with line visibility. I caught more back then!! Its about manageability and the fact it sinks and doesn't stretch as much is why I am wanting to get new line and it be fluorocarbon.

Need a better flourocarbon option....
Ive heard good things about the Trilene fluoro but mostly on you tube. Havent heard much about it here. Either way better line is on hold because the job situation is shaky right now and my wife got a pretty bad medical diagnoses at the Dr today and we are going to have to put all our money and resources into medication and Drs visits for the foreseeable future. My wife and her health are worth far more to me than anything fishing related. Guess those big worms and tungsten bullet weights will have to wait along with the new line. But worth it.

Lure colors
Anymore when I buy something new I buy two packs and that's the only colors I'll use. Junebug and a green pumpkin blue swirl type that I can get from Berkley and Strike King. I used to be color crazy but now its just those two. Junebug unless the water is clear enough to use the green pumpkin blue. Its seemed to help me not obsess about color and just fish and worry about presentation and feeling the bite.

A-Rig Question
This thread has convinced me to tie on the A Rig again. My multipurpose rod is seasonal and I'm about to take off the frog. Which leaves the choice of big jig or A Rig. I still have yet to catch anything on the A-Rig so I'll go that route and I'm really hoping not many people around me are throwing them in public ponds so they havent seen them much or at all.

Need a better flourocarbon option....
As stated in previous posts, I run braid to fluoro on other setups. I am pretty proficient tying leaders on. I have rods and reels with braid but none with straight fluoro and its what I want. I'm going to buy more, just depends on which kind. Its down to Invizex and Sunline, either sniper or shooter. Probably come down to if any are on sale anywhere and if not, I'm confident from the info here that any of the three would be good and I would be happy with any of the three.

Need a better flourocarbon option....
I'm guessing YZH is yo-zuri hybrid. I run it on my moving bait setup. Mainly chatterbaits and paddletails and occasionally a spinnerbait. Its my favorite line but I just want a little less stretch and even Yo-Zuri top knot seems to transfer vibrations a bit better. So thats why I want straight fluoro. Less stretch, but not braid no stretch, it sinks and is used solely for bottom contact baits, is pretty tough and abrasion resistant. Then the whole invisible underwater thing is an added bonus. On my spinning rods i use for bass I run braid with fluoro leader and its great, I just want a bit more stretch than braid.

Need a better flourocarbon option....
I use Yo-Zuri hybrid on two other reels and like it alot, just want a little less stretch and durability for t rigs in cover. Looking like Invizex or assassin or sniper will be what i look at. I don't mind spending $20 something for good line. Doesnt have to be THE BEST but I will definitely keep the Top Knot for leader line!! With veterans day coming up Academy and hopefully BPS will run a special for vets and I can pick some up on sale.

Need a better flourocarbon option....
So let me further clarify. I dont want to spend $30 but I'll spend more than $8 haha. Something $20 or less. I listed the uses in the op and I believe its 14lb. I would like to stay around 15lb test. Reel is a Speed Spool LFS. What I'm looking for is something that isnt so stiff. Something more pliable without compromising strength.
-
Need a better flourocarbon option....
....that isn't $30 a spool. I know Tatsu is amazing and the cats meow. But I don't fish enough to justify it. I am currently using Yo-Zuri Top Knot and the strength is good, but it's stiff and if I get even a small back lash and it kinks in the slightest, it breaks or I test it and it breaks. I use KVD L&L often and it still isn't much better. I use it on my bottom contact casting setup. For t rigs and swing heads and underspins and such. So what do you recommend I try that's not so stiff and doesn't have an obnoxious amount of memory?

Done fishing for bass this year
It was! I made a few casts with the wife's rods and had a green sunfish take a swipe at a Dark Sleeper but other than that I just enjoyed the family, scenery, and weather. I'm going to hit a pond later this week and will fly fish for little blue gills and free line them and see if I get lucky. Wont be disappointed at all if all I catch is the blue gill.

When to use a regular ribbon tail and thicker Cut'R style worm
I never thought about rage rigging a cut'r worm. Thats why I ask these questions!! Doing that would make it fall more horizontal and I can see how that would show the bass something different. I'm going to play around with them more and see what works and what fits my style.
-
When to use a regular ribbon tail and thicker Cut'R style worm
Do you use them like a fluke or more like a swimbait? Without the tail the Cut'r is basically a stick bait so I kept one that the tail got ripped off on to wacky rig, but I think Neko rigging would be good with the tail?

Odd craw colors...
One I like that under water looked realistic to me was Zman Orange/Green Pumpkin. Its the only plastic with orange on it that I own but it looks really good in this laminate.

When to use a regular ribbon tail and thicker Cut'R style worm
Is there any time, place, condition, or situation when using a regular thinner style ribbon or u tail worm would be better than something like a SK Cut'r worm or a Zoom UV Speed Worm that have a body more like a senko? I use the Cut'R worm when I throw worms and I have mixed results and I'm wondering if I should try some of the Culprit worms I have. These are on a texas rig fished around cover and grass and such.

Done fishing for bass this year
I wish I had access to trout and perch. Like real perch, not what these native Okies call anything smaller than a bass!! Today I have a chance to bank fish a lake and it looks to be a rocky shoreline but I am going to let the wife and kids fish and I'll just hang out. Enjoying the water and nature and maybe they will catch a few. My 4 year old son has crazy luck like my dad with fishing haha.

Done fishing for bass this year
It was good to be with my dad. It was the first time I have seen him in a year. We had a falling out and this was our way of getting together finally. So when he outfished me and caught a 3lber I was thinking maybe I'll go another year before I talk to him again haha. But after talking with scaleface I'm pretty excited to try carp fishing. I'll break out the bass gear in the winter maybe. I really enjoy getting them to bite a ned rig in the cold.
