One hand hooksets?
Like others one hand rod, one hand crank. But I know what you mean, I do it with my crappie setup. Like only one hand on the entire combo.

Cheapest substitutes for the most expensive lures?
As far as hooks, I like the Eagle claw Lazer Sharp hooks. Cheap and sharp. I dont need Trokar or Mustad or any high dollar ones. Also the Berkley Choppo (whopper plopper) is great! I have one and love it. Comes with Berley Fusion hooks that are sharp as can be. I mainly use BBB, zoom and yum unless I find some good sales. Got some KVD Ochos for like $2. Also on the cheaper side is the Berkley Havoc stuff which i use the Pit Boss a ton in different colors. All about $3 a bag.

Cheapest substitutes for the most expensive lures?
I like H2O Express lures alot. I'm I'm the same boat. I'm not paying $8 for a lipless I'm going to lose. They are solid and have good hooks.

Ozark Trail lures
I pulled the trigger tonight and got a lipless and a squarebill. Headed to the lake tomorrow with them. The paint looks as good as any, body shape looks good, anything else can be replaced. If I lose them I'm not upset. I have the money, I just cant stomach paying $6 for a lipless i KNOW I'm going to lose.

Wading
I wear 12 inch boots and wade in creeks some and always end up in the water. But.... like others have said, it can be dangerous. I got stuck in quicksand like mud and it doesnt take long at all to tire out. Within a minute or two I was breathing very hard and I'm in decent shape. I was in up to my knees. Luckily I had a random person that happened to be in this off the beaten path creek too and helped me out. Otherwise I could have been stuck for quite a while.

Lipless Crankbaits
I love the lipless for its versatility and I've never caught a fish on a billed crankbait. But I've caught plenty on the lipless. To each their own but for me I primarily stay lipless.

Ozark Trail lures
I like H2O Express stuff but I broke half the bill off my squarebill and didnt even fish it that hard. I like their colors too. But these 2 lures in particular I go through fast. For some reason a lipless lasts me usually 1-2 trips before I lose them. Squarebill I've actually yet to catch a fish on so not sure I want to crack another bill on a higher dollar lure. Hmm.

Ozark Trail lures
So if I buy them, fish them stock and get what use I can out of them, if they suck I learned my lesson and I'll get better crankbaits. I tend to buy H2O Express ones from academy because they seem like they are the best for the price. Most come with VMC hooks too.

Ozark Trail lures
The packages say they have eagle claw hooks, but I'm assuming the cheapo ones. I use the eagle claw Laser Sharp hooks and love those so will probably upgrade to them. But then that offsets the cost difference. Hmm...

Ozark Trail lures
I've been eye balling some Ozark Trail lures at Walmart. Particularly the lipless and square bill crankbaits because I always loose them but love using them and $4 for an H2O Express let alone like a strike king for $6 adds up. So $2 a piece is not that big of a deal if I lose a few. Has anyone used Ozark Trail lures, if so how did they compare to higher dollar lures?

Tulsa area bass fishing
Thanks! I'm willing to drive when I get a whole day to fish. Cant drive 2 hours one way everytime, especially when I only have 2 hours to fish! But there are those rare days when I have the entire day and can get out of the Tulsa area.

Tulsa area bass fishing
I live technically in broken arrow, but I fish all over the Tulsa area. I hit alot or urban ponds and occasionally a lake. Where around here does everybody fish? I love trying new places and exploring new areas. I've fished Keystone, lake Jackson and Lake Bixhoma but thats it as far as lakes. No boat so bank bound.
