Asian Carp in Michigan
Looks like that article was from 2002 I can honestly say that carp do have the ability to wipe out vegetation in a body of water if nothing is done. Especially because of how fast they reproduce. There's a small body of water in my town that has a stream (about 3 miles long) running from the ocean into it and the carp have been coming up it and have completely cleaned out all vegetation in the small body of water.

Biggest Bass Swimming in the North
Does anyone know if bass live LONGER in the North or in the South or the same?(on average) I've been thinking and if a bass is hardly moving during the Winter instead of using energy do you think it conserves their life and allows them to live a couple years longer than a bass, say in the south, where it's constantly feeding and moving around the lake? Just a thought

3 wasp stings and a LMB later and this is what I look like!!!

Any word from the Cape?
I talked to a guy from the Cape, back in February and he said that the ponds didn't freeze over this year? He could have been lieing so you may want to seek confirmation but it hasn't been REALLY cold this year.

No end in sight
It was 50 ish on Monday, 55 on Tuesday with rain, and today it's supposed to barely get to 50, tommorrow looks like 48 max. It's supposed to stay in the high 40s during the day but in the upcoming week it could get as cold as 13 at night. No more snow in the forecast...thankfully, just rain. Going to check the local reservoir tommorrow and see if I can fish for a bit, it's usually the first place open because of water pumps always running in the middle. Spring's here...I hope :

Anybody Heading to Foxboro BPS This Weekend?
Isn't that big Spring Classic sale this weekend? With Gerald Swindle? I've only been once and that was the week after Christmas, they hadn't caught up on stocking it at that time. I think they opened the store a bit early so that they could be open for the Christmas season which would explain why I've heard so many people dissapointed in the assortment of lures...I know I was. The fish tanks are just awesome though, I sat there for a couple hours. Hope you guys have a good time, and don't let the baitmonkey run too rampant ;D

Biggest Bass Swimming in the North
You should have thrown a shiny metal spoon or daredevil next to the bass, they usually eventually pick it up to move it and BAM that's what my dad used to do anyways...

A Shoutout for NH Fishermen!!!
Hey guys I'm from MA but I spend about a month of my Summer up in NH. I'm sure one of these if not both has been mentioned already but does anyone here fish Lake Winnipesaukee or Lake Kanasatka (North of Winni)? Lake Winni gets a little crowded with boat traffic and I've really only fished it from the docks, having most luck with SMBs at night and early mornings, Lake K on the other hand hardly has anyone on it and seems to have a decent LMB and SMB population.

Ma state record
If you think about it though. Sampson Pond may not be a good bass spot ANYMORE because the record was said to come from there don't you think everyone piled in and fished it out, especially after this many years.

Itchin for some rod bendin' action
I tried my local river today, in hopes of maybe catching a trout or pickerel or anything with fins. It was 45 degrees today and the air felt like Spring, sadly the river was up higher than I've ever seen it and the current was blasting through so strong it was impossible to do anything.I left after about 10 minutes (I fought the current for a little bit and pretended it was a fish, then some guy drove by and gave me a weird look). First skunk of the year!

Small Pond, Not Seeing The Best of Days
weeds taking over bodies of water, especially small ones, have been known to negatively effect the fish population. Also, it could even be a invasive species of vegetation? Were all those weeds there 5 years back? or are they fairly new?

NEW MARYLAND STATE RECORD!!!
wow that is a hawg! I believe I have one of those lures but could never find out how to fish it, do you jig or swim it in?

Biggest Bass Swimming in the North
Without a doubt there's double digit bass here in the waters of MA.

whats the biggest NE bass u've ever caught
Last year was my first FULL year of focusing on bass. I live up in Northeastern MA and was fishing a local reservoir from shore last July. There's this one weed patch that I had been consistently pulling 1-2lbers from. I finally made one "last" cast of the day and cast my black/blue Horny toad to the very end of the weedbed and slowly brought it across the muck. All of a sudden the water erupted and my toad was sucked beneath, I set the hook and horsed the fish out, not giving it much of a chance to fight because the weeds were so thick. As I reeled in I had no idea of it's size because all I could see at the end of my line was a load of weeds but could feel the tugging. I gradually got it to shore and I reached down into what turned out to be a 8.1lb Largemouth. I caught some fish close to it in the Fall but never topped it, maybe next year

Coming soon to a lake near you!
I don't see anything wrong with that, if they're trying to protect our environment and not stop you from fishing then give them a few minutes of your time. Around here we've had a couple of ponds destroyed by invasive weeds and they no longer hold decent amounts of fish.

Itchin for some rod bendin' action
I know the ponds on Cape Cod tend to open a bit earlier than everywhere else

Ma state record
Yeah it's deffinately not impossible although I can't imagine catching a fish almost twice as heavy as my PB... I've heard of two 12lbers caught in waters in neighboring towns, trout stockings deffinately help

NYG!!!! WIN IT wow!!!
I'm not trying to give him any excuses, I think he lost the game for the Pats. Just saying I could tell something was "off"

NYG!!!! WIN IT wow!!!
Honestly, the Pats should have crushed the Giants on offense but something was up with Brady. After watching every game of the season, I could tell something was "off". Granted the Giants were blitzing, he never really made an effort to get out of the pocket. They said his ankle wasn't an issue which I think was a lie. Brady had plenty of long bombs down to my man Moss throughout the season, tonight he could barely chuck the ball 50 yds. If it wasn't his ankle, then something had happened with his girlfriend, earlier in the week he was spotted getting her flowers and apologizing for something. Brady tossed the whole game away for NE, in my opinion. And who was calling those stupid screen passes? It worked once, failed 100 other times. I know the Giants won the superbowl in the end but I wouldnt say Eli Manning was outstanding, he wasn't injured and missed plenty of easy throws. The commercials...some were funny but there was hardly any compared to past years. The majority of them seemed to be commercials for shows that air on FOX= boring > It's just a game though, and as a fan you can't change the outcome, so congrats to the NY Giants

Decisions on pond/small lake boat.
I'm in the same situation except I'm 17 and have a job. I've been looking around for about a month (water's frozen around here until end of march so I'm in no rush). I was thinking about the solo but then decided my 6'6" rods would be a tight fit along with all my gear, and a buddy of mine may want to join me every now and then. I was talking to people on another fishing forum and they said that the double pontoon design (as the solor Bass Hunter) has, makes it stable enough to stand and cast with ease. Anyways, my two choices are now this http://www.directboats.com/bashunfisboa.html or http://www.directboats.com/ulbashun.html I'd rather get the 2nd one obviously, and it'll come down to whether I got a pay raise or not. If you're only using 1 rod and don't have to walk through the woods then the inflatable may not be such a bad idea. I wouldn't stand in it though good luck
