I caught a tiny bass. Also lost a pack of 6th Sense swimbaits into the drink when I was over on the dock in the background. Thought I was dropping it into my bag, but I dropped it onto my bag, immediately precipitating it dropping into the water. ?

I throw two. Love 'em. They've taken a beating so far. One a (a 5.6:1) has always sounded a little geary, but I'm too lazy to take it apart to lube up. I should have a reel cleaning sesh tomorrow night.

I didn't set out to be but that's sure how it's working out.

I have an MB and just love that reel to pieces. Dangit. One rig at a time. When I finish what I'm working on now, I might think about getting a new reel. lol

Ugh. I need another casting reel like I need a new hole in my head but that is so tempting.

Probably for the best you had it taken out. It'd be a real chore trying to accessorize around that.

I dunno if I count this as a close call because of how comfortable I've always been around reptiles, but I was fishing on a friend's dock one day and heard a thump behind me. Turned around to see a cottonmouth on the dock with me. Totally forgot about the fishing for a minute while I watched it, mostly because I was just…really excited to get to see one up close like that. Minute or so later it slipped into the water. So maybe a close call, but I thought it was pretty cool to get to see a snake like that up close and personal without being close enough that either of us had to worry.

Maybe it was opposite day for them, where they go out and intentionally not catch carp while fishing for carp. And in the right spot they're so thick you can dang near walk across them.

I want to learn how to love finesse presentations, so I picked this up off another member, @Hudson McLean. I really like the feel of it. Still gotta figure out what rod I wanna pair it with, but I'm not in any kind of hurry so I'll probably wait for a sale or something.

Went to a new spot late yesterday afternoon, out on the southern end of Cherokee. Beautiful spot, secluded, nobody else around. MASSIVE pile of trash. Beer cans, takeout bags, line balled up everywhere with, of course, splitshot and circle hooks on the end. And, of course, chicken liver containers. I don't know why people that catfish are so disgusting.

You misunderstand me. I love the idea and a DC wasn't on my list, but now it is.

Honestly that's enough to have me rethinking my next casting reel purchase.

That is impressive. The only reason I haven't made a birdnest today is because I haven't made a cast.

@Bass_Fishing_Socal spinning for the foreseeable future. I love the idea of BFS, but I also want to make sure it's something that I can hand to people that aren't good with casting gear.
