  1. i also pondered using the industrial velcro...so if it got really dirty i could just pick it up, clean it really well and then put it back
  2. i have one in my sprint-- it didn't have a permanent mount so i installed mine with doublesided 3m tape; worked like a charm
  3. i'm a non-denominational baiter. jerkin, crankin, walkin, etc...you name it i'll use it.
  4. Wish I could put this instead of like:????
  5. lol he must've had eyes like a 7 year old at a 50' buffet
  6. can i throw in -- have you tried drop shot? you said there is current...and yes it's a slower method but if you drag it across their face they might just bite it..
  7. thanks for having me! yea it was a bit of luck to find it to be honest. i just expanded to 6 rods/reels now....is it spring yet?? i'm stuck in DC for work - looking to pick up a fishing license and hit up the tidal basin...anyone been?? tips? tricks? I was thinking i'd probably have to drop shot a bit since it's not exactly 70*F outside...should i try jerkbaits? cranks? ned'in?
  8. Haha hey, when ya get the bug, ya get the bug. Merry Christmas everyone!!!
  9. If anyone wants to follow - I'm on Fishbrain; PGioFromNJ
  10. Ended up seeing the boat tonight...and went for it. The transom is solid as a rock with absolutely no movement in it, and overall the boat has very little marks in the gel coat aside from one or two minor spots along the hip line from docking hard.
  11. 1997 Sprint 286 DC Pro Tournament, with Johnson 115hp motor on a dual axle. Boat, engine and trailer are all in insanely good condition for the age. Basically getting it for free as well.
  12. hey BR - name's Paul, just started fishing not too long ago - just 3 months ago actually. always been into golf and other sports until my close friend introduced me to this addicting sport. have to say i've already spent a ton on tackle and rod/reel setups -- and love it so much i'm looking to buy my first boat in the coming months. i live in the top third of NJ, and dead middle between PA and NY along route 80. i haven't fished a ton of places but, i'm on fishbrain already and have been out almost every other day since i started fishing until the weather didn't cooperate. thanks for having me - happy to be here. -P
  13. will be sure to do that - i'll also take extensive pictures and notations when i'm there on sunday. would you guys be ok with looking at them and giving a look in case i might miss something? again, even if i agreed to purchase it, i have until mid february to take delivery of it. (travel for work)
  14. i don't mind blunt - the boat (haven't inspected it in-person yet as i'm on travel for work; will see it sunday) is going to be free to me. i will do as others have posted and do a thorough look at the transom, floors, hull and others places for stress cracks and weak spots. while i understand you believe it might be a 'cheap' boat, i've literally never owned a boat before and this would be my first one.
  15. hey guys, first post just joined -- i'm going to be purchasing my first boat in a month or so - a 1997 Sprint 286 DC ProTournament. does anyone have any insight as to what i should be looking for when i see it? going to see it next weekend when i get home from a work trip. any tips or areas to look for would be fantastic - thanks in advance! Gio
