Question for the group regarding guide replacement...
I always cut the thread & epoxy finish on the guide foot...this rod had the thickest application of epoxy finish I'd ever had to deal with. The heat trick worked, I al putting the new guides in the exact spot. I did have an issue afterwards with cramped fingers! Many Thanks for the responses!

Question for the group regarding guide replacement...
Thanks! I've never dealt with this much epoxy on a rod before! My biggest concern is damaging the blank itself.

Question for the group regarding guide replacement...
I was asked to replace the guides on an older Halo rod for a coworker. The main issue I'm having is the incredibly thick epoxy covering the guide wraps. Football-ish is the best way to describe them. Any suggestions on softening the epoxy without damaging the blank? He would like to keep using this blank (kind of like his 'lucky' rod). Thanks in advance!

Spinning reel spool question...
I also use a lot of copolymer line on the Upper Potomac and a few deep lakes in my area. Line capacity is a bit of a factor in my decision. I'd get a 3000 size reel in Daiwa or Shimano, but personally...I do not like the T shape grip on either brand.

Many thanks for your reply!

Spinning reel spool question...
I have a Daiwa Exceler LT 2500-XH. I would like to know if a spool from an Exceler LT 3000-XH would fit. My goal would be more line capacity, and, with a slightly larger spool, less line memory issues.

Reel grip cleaning.
So many welcome replies! Many thanks! I used WD40, and followed up with a mixture of Dawn dish soap (to cut the oil), and baking soda (mild abrasive). The grip handle is now like new. This mix of Dawn and baking soda is a great hand cleaner for greasy fingers after cleaning reels!

Reel grip cleaning.
I acquired a reel with a rubber grip. This grip had electrical tape on it. What would be the best method for removing the adhesive residue? I'm thinking a mixture of dish soap and a bit of baking soda in very hot tap water.

Head to head comparison...MHX vs Cashion
Planning on a new personal finesse/shaky head/light worming rod. Opinions on these three blanks: Cashion CR6r-iP842 (7') vs the MHX SJ833-MHX (6'11") vs the Cashion CR6r-iP843 (7').

Pro Paste Epoxy
Anyone else have this issue with Pro Paste: The resin has become dried out, crystallized, lumpy...less so in the middle. The hardner is just fine, no issues.
