Tips for Fishing in Current
I fish the St. Johns River here in Fla. The river has a heavy northern flow. I throw heavy up current and let the current bring it back down to just past the boat. I'd also say Black and Blue are my go to colors in this heavy current....

Bilge Pump/Livewell overhaul
I just replaced every pump in my TR-22 (8) in all. Two day job being bent over in the bilge while laying on the deck. The whole thing started with a very noisy live well pump. Figured while I was in there I'd replace them all with Tsunami pumps and should be good for another 20 years...

Thoughts on torn seats.
Its funny because I'm the same way even with vehicles. People use their seats as steps in their boats and that tears the threads and causes the seats to split. My '99 Triton seats are in showroom condition. It doesn't take a lot of work to take care of your investments...

How do you start a 2-Stroke Mercury?
My 150 XR6 is very cold natured at initial start up. Level the motor up, pump the primer bulb, choke for 10 seconds and crank. Once it starts and warms up it runs like a raped ape and starts immediately every time. The XR6 is the work horse of the 2 stroke, carbed Mercury line up. I love that motor...

The body of the pump should snap into the base (bottom plate). Then you can remove the screws holding the base plate down and replace everything.
