  1. That describes a couple of Shimano Compre's that I have to a t. CPC-X66MB, medium power, extra fast, 8-17, 1/8-1/2oz. Mine is are sitting under a couple of Shimano Calcutta 151's. ;)I also have a couple of Compre spinning rods, CPS-70MB that I really like, medium, fast, 6-12, with a couple of Catalyst PTi 20's. BTW, about 90% of my smallie fishing is river. Jet's rule, if you ain't hittin bottom, you ain't jet boatin!
  2. What do you think the best worm for a shakey head is? Thanks.
  3. I've fished braids with mono leaders extensively for steelhead. I use 30# braid, which is 8# diameter, and 10 pound mono leader. I have had good luck joining the lines using a double surgeons knot. This combo has handled 18+ pound steelhead, sidedrifting, which means your line is constantly down in the rocks.
  4. Hi all, where can you get a floating senko-type worm? Probably 3-4"? I'd like to try a shakey head this year, but don't know where to find floating worms. Or what do you all use for shakey heads? Thanks.
  5. Hi, new here, from the great state of Montana. We have awesome smallmouth fishing, both here and in Idaho. Now for my question: I'm using a 6'6" Shimano Compre, med. action, 1/8-1/2 oz lure wt, Shimano Calcutta 51. (I have two of these). Also have two Shimano 7' med. action Compre, 1/8-1/2oz, Quantum Catalyst Spinning reels. I prefer the baitcasters, unless the wind is howling or I'm throwing unweighted Senkos. Fishing smallmouth with jig/grub, 1/8-1/4 oz jig head, small cranks, tubes 1/8-3/8 oz. Once in a while some 3-4" senkos. All river fishing, from a boat. I'm thinking about trying some Yozuri line, either Hybrid or Hybrid UltraSoft, in either 8# or 10#--maybe 6# for the spinning set up. Which combination would you recommend? Thanks.
