Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
What size rivets are y'all using for these boats? Are y'all applying sealant after using the rivets? If so, what kind? Thanks

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
There's a new version of the Bass Raider in stores. I went to Academy and looked at one this evening. On the side, it says 10e NXT. I looked it up right there in store and only BPS and Cabelas have any info on it. https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/pelican-bass-raider-10e-nxt-fishing-boat The boat pretty is pretty much the same, but with upgraded chairs.

What trailer do y'all recommend for transporting these Pelican/Bass Hunter boats? I would like to hit the highway and take the boat to the in-laws about 3.5 hours away. Would a utility trailer or jet ski trailer be better?

What trailer do y'all recommend for a Pelican/Bass Hunter style boat if interstate travel is required? I see the Northern Tool 5x8 and then there are Jet Ski/PWC trailers. I'd need to trailer to be highway speed rated as I plan to travel with the boat.

St. Croix Rod for UL
Thanks for the feedback. In addition to the Avid, I'm also looking at the Fenwick River Runner and St. Croix Trout Series.

St. Croix Rod for UL
I'm looking for a sensitive rod that is not a whippy noodle. Fun factor is important as well and want the fish to put up a good fight. The reason I was considering the 2-piece is for traveling purposes...no truck/no boat.

St. Croix Rod for UL
Looking at the one piece 6'9" Panfish UL/F and the two piece 6'6" Avid UL/F. I mainly fish for bream and crappie, but want to be able to handle the occasional 1-2 lb largemouth bass. I mainly cast jigs between 1/64 and 1/32, no floats, and want to be able to cast it out there a ways since I bank fish. I keep flipping back and forth between the two. Anyone use both of these rods and have any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Pelican Bass Raider 10E
While I don't doubt it could tow it, I don't believe Sonatas are rated to tow anything per the owner's manual.

For those that haul the 10e in the bed of the truck, would you feel comfortable taking it on longer trips? Something like a 6 or 8 hour drive. First thought was to look at rangers or Tacomas.

I am still reading this thread but wanted to go ahead and ask. Have any of y’all towed the Pelican or equivalent with a Prius or sedan? Both my wife’s car and my car are 4 door sedans, neither of which is rated for towing. Prius folks are divided on whether to tow or not with the car. It seems like it can be done but not recommended. I’m not too thrilled at the prospect of putting the boat on the roof of either car. I may have to get a road-worthy truck if I want a boat.

JDM gear won in the end. Majorcraft rod and Daiwa reel.

UL for Panfish/Crappie
I'm leaning toward St. Croix Avid 6'6" UL and pairing it with a Pflueger Purist (25). Thoughts on this setup?

Has anyone used the Scheel's Ultralight rod? If so, what are your thoughts/opinions?

UL for Panfish/Crappie
I forgot to include the St. Croix Avid in my original post. What about the Avid vs Panfish? Have my eye on the 6' UL version.

They sell a 1 piece in the 6' rod? Link?
