Pelican Bass Raider 10E

Featured Replies

After looking at a few options, I think Pelican will be perfect for some of the local lakes here in MD. A friend suggested a canoe, but that's not for me. Anyway, I have a Hyundai Sonata, and I am wondering if there is a suitable rack to drive the boat from point A to point B. I once had a Volvo SUV, but my kid wreck it so that's that, and I'm not going to buy a truck just to carry the boat around. Any suggestions will be appreciated! Best, Ed

I'd get a small harbor freight type trailer. I used to have a 10' Jon and I couldn't imagine putting it on a roof rack.

That's an option - thank you. Btw, I think they are out of business, though.

I had one of those boats. If you can comfortably load it on a roof rack without struggling your more man than me. Buy a small harbor freight trailer for a few hundred bucks and be done.

While I don't doubt it could tow it, I don't believe Sonatas are rated to tow anything per the owner's manual.

You could tow that it’s nothing. No different than having a 200lb passenger

I found a Harbor Freight shop in my neck of the woods! I'll be heading there tomorrow to check it out - many thanks!

I truly doubt that since I'm a wimp. Appreciate your suggestion, and that's - very likely - my plan anyway. :)
