  1. i have watched his eliminator video
  2. Interesting how they say the daiwa has oversized gears which are different from the exceler but lots of people say they are the same but maybe it’s just some marketing sceme?
  3. The trout guys here in nb are insane ,once there was a guy asking for bass fishing tips for nb on Facebook a trout guy lied and say the government just passed a law to kill all bass and the dude who was asking believed it but good thing some guy told him the real regulations later on which were 2bass from 12in to 24inches and from July 1st to sept 15
  4. Here Smallmouth bass get tons of hate from trout and salmon anglers and they often take it to far with using bass illegaly as bear bait or just wasting them.Does anyone else have this problem in their state or province
  5. Do you think the gears on the eliminator is strong enough?
  6. Been looking around on $99 spinning reels and I found the Daiwa eliminator and daiwa exceler the most interesting reels but i have some concerns about both the first one being on the eliminator it has a giant spool with such a small gear and i worry the gears might wear out quickly by just reeling as this has happen before on my reels with a heavy spool(if you don’t know what gear im talking about its the one under the main gear which makes the spool go up and down) the second concern is on the exceler which has a carbon frame and i think it might break under heavy load when striper fishing.Which one do you guys think i should get and why
  7. Always reel and twitch and keep the slack ,most people think they need alot of slack they don’t reel and the bait just goes forwards
  8. Thanks guys for the very helpful answers,my follow up question would be would playing drag on a baitcaster damage the gears?i heard something like this on tackle advisors
  9. Im not concern about line digging in but im more concern about strength of line and how use light line on a baitcaster to not break off
  10. I used to use some 50lb line to catch smallmouth but now i have ran out of braid and am switching to 10lb mono while waiting for new braid,my question is how do you fish with light line on a baitcaster for smallmouth and possibly muskie?btw i am fishing a mix of cover and jigs and moving baits on this set up
  11. They don’t say it’s made of magnesium
  12. So over the past few years magnesium has really gotten famous but is it really stronger than graphite or is it just scam?
  13. How about a popper because it can stay out of the weeds longer and i doubt there are any smallmouth in the weeds
  14. Yes my second favourite is lipless
  15. You can srart throwing topwaters when the water is 55+ in the early morning. After early morning they will suspend more
  16. What smallmouth bait can be worked through anything, anywhere, and anytime and still catch smallmouth ? Mine would be a jerkbait
  17. Fishing right below the dam in my area is prohibited and you must go 1mile from the dam to be able to legally fish
  18. I have read some threads about the dt crankbaits in bass resource on why their bill separate and break. Most people blame the balsa wood but I think the wood has nothing to do with bill quality or how much glue is being used to glue the lip to the bait. The wood is not breaking the bill is.So what are your thoughts?
  19. I live in the north east and the bank is wide but the structure is the same for a mile long.I used navionics to know what the depths are. There is not a lot of things that change the current.I usually catch them around the 5 to 6 ft area
  20. It is full of bank vegetation slow current and it’s near a boat launch and the bottom is smooth and I primarily fish post spawn and summer I tried the senkos for a few trips and all got skunked
  21. I fish for smallmouth in a wide river not creeks with slow current and deepest spots are 12ft and I fish from the bank.My spot had a lot of vegetation and little rock.i get skunked all the time and some times it hopeless to catch a smallmouth no matter the season.I need to know where to cast at and what bait I should use.thanks in advance
