  1. Dobyns Champion XP 734c Designed as a spook (top water/treble hook lures) rod but also great for single-hook moving baits (chatterbaits and spinnerbaits) and is good enough with jigs and worms. I've bought, tried and sold many rods throughout the years, but the DC734 is still here because I can always count on it for versatility when I only want to bring one rod for shore pounding. My main lures are small swimbaits and swimjigs, spinnerbaits and t-rig grubs. All handled by the 734. Used Dobyns Champion XPs go for about $200 and are still covered by their no-hassle exchange program if something bad happens.
  2. Where are you guys buying aftermarket drag clickers? Are they always custom made, or are there generic kits? Are they decent quality? I've been curious about adding a drag clicker to an old BB1 inshore that I use for bait and wait.
  3. I really dislike the look over overly pitted cork, so I coat mine to prolong the time until that happens.
  4. Sounds like you were handling a 735. That's a great model in the Champ XP and Sierra lines.
  5. Where is a stradic on sale for $135?

  7. I personally would get a DX744 because I need versatility. With jig specific needs, the 745 is probably the better option.
  8. What shipping method do you usually use when ordering from PLAT?
  9. You should be able to buy the piece. Click Shop, then Spinning Reels, then your reel, then you can select the model of your reel. Scroll through the parts list and add it to your cart.
  10. I think I saw that same video before and was confused by the order he said he tied it. I think they edited the video or his voice over comment was just incorrect. Theres no way to tie a Palomar to the swivel after it's connected to the mainline without wasting a massive amount of leader line.
  11. Most would suggest the 745
  12. Do you Megabass rod owners consider P5's durable? I'm intrigued by the Windbuster and found a used one thats close to my budget. I'm worried about not having a warranty to fall back on should an accident happen. I not rough with my gear, but you never know.
  13. Do you have the 7'2 or 7'7? How does it balance with the Vanford? When I was playing with Phenix Feathers, the 7'1 balanced better than the 7'7 to me, but I was using a heavier Stradic FL. Curious how the Maxim balances.
