  2. I was trying to get into big swimbait fishing (mostly glide baits) and was wondering if there was a rod that would be under $130. I also think im gonna get a cardiff but if there are any better reels for around the same price please let me know what they are. thanks
  3. i would throw a frog or a punching rig with a d bomb
  4. if i am using straight braid i will tie a tight knot but if i am using mono i use a non slip loop knot
  5. if your hook isnt to deep down their throat then you can take some plyers and carefully put them under the gill plate without touching the gills and grab the hook shank and twist outwards. if that doesnt work you can cut your line and push the hook all the way through.
  6. ill try that, i usually have a wacky rigged watermelon red senko tied on my spinning rod
  7. Thanks for the advise. In my scenario They might be jumping at dragonflies sometimes but I also see the school of small bluegill scattering at the surface when the bass blows up that is why I thought it was bluegill
  8. Recently when I go fishing I see Bass jumping out of the water for what I think is bluegill I also see their wakes when they chase the bluegill. My lake is covered in thick hydrilla so I threw a frog in there. 4 hours later and I still haven’t caught a fish and I haven’t got any blowups. I fished the frog slow and fast. If you could tell me what I’m doing wrong then that would be a great help. Also what other baits do you recommend for my situation
  9. ok. thanks Yeah i will try. they havnt stocked smallmouth striper, catfish or crappie in a while but im pretty sure theres a few still in there yea lol been fishing it since i was 8 also did i mention none of my parents fish and my uncle fishes for saltwater fish on his boat like salmon and sturgeon and stuff so this is the only place i can learn about bass fishing from other people that live near me is it ok to fish anywhere or jist a specific spot cause just looked on google street view and there are no fishing signs on the marina
  10. contra loma has been working but every time i go there the more its harder to catch fish because of how pressured its getting. also im in 7th grade so idk if i can join those teams. thank you for the advise tho i might give contra loma a second chance now...
  11. No most of my friends live in brentwoodaround balfour
  12. I was wondering if anyone knows pretty good bass fishing spots around antioch/brentwood area. i am only 12 so i cant drive and my parents are not willing to take a drive longer than 20 minutes i have been fishing contra loma for 4 years now and always have luck but i want to try something new. (i dont have a kayak so delta spots are kinda hard for me to fish)
  13. Is it possible for that to happen with a new rod? I just got it yeasterday It’s brand new though
  14. Recently I caught a fish and my braid was going through the guides with force (casting rod) it got so bad by the end of the trip that I could break it with my hands and it was 15 pound power pro. I tried on my other rod and it’s the same. I also tried spider wire same problem. So is it normal or is it my reel or rod? I meant to say the fish was pulling drag
