Sunline Braid
That line has been on my interest list. From my understanding of reviews of majority of the Sunline braid is that people go off of LB rather than diameter since the Japanese braid is thinner compared to USDM braid. I’m just getting back into fishing after two years of not really enjoying it. I was always using Sunline flurocarbon(Sniper FC or that blue Super FC). I’ve been hearing about Sniper FC specifically breaking weirdly. Have you had any problems with it just breaking? I saw a video from the Hook Up tackle talking about it besides from reading new reviews.

Sunline Braid
I’ve been wanting to stick with one brand for fishing lines. Since I already use Sunline fluro. Sunline provides one of each type of line already. I’m currently trying 12LB Xplasma(Bright Green) and the only negative thing I’ve had with it is having a weird breakoff once but it hasnt occured ever again.(probably was nicked somewhere) Has anyone got any bad experiences with Sunline Braid? I just see bad reviews on a lot of the different braids. Mostly abrasion resistantance and color fading. But then I’ve seen fr another post about it not fading as fast as other brands(at least for Xplasma).

U40 Cork Sealer Changing Cork Color
Possibly but with my lower end rods. It doesn’t do that.

U40 Cork Sealer Changing Cork Color
So when I applied U40 to some of my rods like my Dobyns Xtasy, Megabass Destroyer and Shimano Expride B. The cork becomes more of dark tan color. While my Gloomis NRX/Conquest and St Croix Legend X’s cork stays the light tan color. I’m assuming it’s just because it’s different type of cork but I do apply quite a bit of u40. Not until it’s dripping but enough. Just curious if anyone else’s rods are the same.

Barbless Frog Hooks?
I did do that but it snapped off

Barbless Frog Hooks?
So I kept finding spro frogs everywhere I went fishing. I found a really good one and used it. But I had a bass bent the hook so I bent it. The barb on right side of the frog is gone and I’m kinda curious if that’ll effect much. So do any of y’all fish barbless frogs?

Using Electrical Tape Instead of Tying Knot onto Spool
I wanted to try it and see if it makes a difference at all. I’m not catching any saltwater fish that are capable of pulling off all the line off of my spool. But I also do put the line into the spool hole before taping.

Using Electrical Tape Instead of Tying Knot onto Spool
So I’ve been using electrical tape as a way of keeping line on the spool without having to make a arbor knot. Does anyone else do this? I recently started doing this because I saw a video(don’t remember who but possibly LakeForkGuy?). I haven’t ran into any issues but I haven’t been fishing a lot lately.

Seaguar Red Label and Line Conditoner
yeah it sounds far fetched but the person could’ve been using like reel magic and that stuff is just horrible.

Seaguar Red Label and Line Conditoner
Would using kvd line conditioner help with the memory on red label? I was thinking about getting some KVD conditioner but haven’t bothered to order it. I’ve read a review that said line conditioner would getting rid of coating on red label.

Shimano Spinning Reel Maintenance
They don’t make any parts for it anymore but I could buy one from eBay for $10. I just don’t know if it’s worth spending the extra money cause it’s fine without but I know it can allow dust to build up or whatever Plus I think it’s just there to fill up a gap so I probably won’t. Also got any recommendations for cleaning off grease?

Shimano Spinning Reel Maintenance
So I have a Shimano Stradic 2500FH that is 17 years old. I found it in my house on a unused fishing pole. I didn’t realize what it was but I cleaned and wiped out all the excess grease and got rid of all the yellowing on the outside. This is my first time ever fully cleaning a spinning reel. I cleaned the bearings and added a drop of oil. But for everything else I used grease. Is it okay to use grease on the worm drive in a spinning reel? Cause I know it’ll collect dust on baitcasters but is it fine on spinning? I also noticed the friction ring was missing. Is it worth getting a new one?
