  1. I’m going 7’2 MH Expride with a Scorpion reel.
  2. Didn’t know they made a Scorpion DC. Nice suggestion, thanks! Yeah, I think you’re right. I’ve never owned a Heavy rod before. Maybe I’ll spring for the MH/F Expride!
  3. So I’m going to start throwing a 1/2oz spoon to catch freshwater Redfish. I thought I’d get a heavy rod to use it for bass in and around cover too. Plan to pair it with a Curado DC reel. Fishing from a Kayak. What do you guys think? Sound like a good combo to you? Any suggestions?
  4. I think either of these paddles will will nicely. Thanks guys!
  5. What paddle are you guys using on your pedal kayaks?
  6. Changed my mind. Went with a 7’Med LT Zodias
  7. And then there’s the Vivid lol I think I’ll go with this one STRIKER™ Vivid 7sv With GT52HW-TM Transducer
  8. I’ll definitely go with the 7sv over the 7cv. Do you think the 73sv is worth the extra $300?
  9. Around Austin...gotcha! Thank you!
  10. Howdy, May I ask where you like to fish around our neck of the woods? Canyon, Braunig, Calaveras, Choke etc. Yeah, I don’t think I’m a good enough angler for EchoMAP money. I’m more in the Striker category and even that is out of my league;)
  11. Hey guys/gals, Im looking to put a fish finder on my Predator PDL and was wondering if the 7sv was worth the additional cost. I’m thinking it is but wanted to check with the experts first. Thanks!
  12. I’m going with a 7’ Avid ML spinning rod. Thank you to everyone who advised me. Much appreciated!
  13. Wacky jig head...love it. So a ML for my spinning rod, never thrown a drop shot, and then the M/M for my third, squarebill rod. I like it.
  14. Very nice, thank you.
  15. May I ask what you use this combo for? Is it mainly weightless baits? Wacky worms or weightless jerkbaits?
  16. 3/8 oz jig with a trailer. Yeah, I’m fairly new to baitcasters and sometimes I get frustrated and want a spinning rod. The problem is that I don’t want to have two MH rods right? Should the SLX be used for swim baits and the spinning reel for baits that work the bottom?
  17. I have a 2500 sized Stratic reel without a rod and I’m looking to have two kayak rod setups for now. The first is the Shimano SLX baitcaster and the second is the Stratic reel and some kind of rod. With these two rods I’d like to be able to throw jigs, T-rigs, Ned-rigs, jerk bait, squarebills, wacky worms, and try some top water too. Maybe I need three rods.
  18. That’s a nice looking rod. Perfect color for my 2500 sized Stratic. I usually fish a T-rig, but I’m really wanting to spend a lot of time working on jig fishing.
  19. Hey guys, I like to fish, but I’m really bad at it. I just bought two fishing kayaks so I’m trying to pay more attention to what I’m doing. I have a Shimano SLX Casting Rod 7'2" MH XF for my first rod and now I need a second for the kayak. I do have a Shimano Stratic CI4+ spinning reel, but don’t have a rod for it yet. I was thinking about a St. Croix Avid series rod. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I live in south Texas so I fish primarily lakes. If you have time maybe chime in what type of lures would be best on each setup. Thanks in advance.
