I am 16 years old and have a 14’ jon boat with a 9.9hp. I am obsessed with bass fishing and taking my boat out whenever I can. I have gotten to know Fountainhead, Bull Run, and the Occoquan river with consistent luck, pretty much going every weekend that I can. I have done some club tournaments in the past but looking for something with smaller entry fee’s. A smaller club tournament where I could either use my jon boat or fishing as a co angler. Again looking for a tournament with small entry fees in the Northern Va area or within 45 minutes of Fairfax Virginia. Thanks, James P

This spring break I will be going to lake anna for a few nights march 28th through the 31st. I will be staying on the private side on dyke three. I have gone before but not this time of year. What lures work best and are the bass going to be post spawn since it’ll be on the warm side. I will have my boat so I can go to different places on the lake any recommendations? Also my buddy is coming and he is bringing his boat if we did a little friendly tournament and put the fish in the live well for a few hours and let them go at the end would this effect the fish? if they are post/ pre/ or during the spawn. I recently got a Garmin Striker 9sv and I was wondering is there a way to set it up to sync with an ipad or any other device for that matter? Another words is there anyway tablet or ipad that I could get to hook up with my fish finder so I could see the same screen as the fish finder. Thanks

I recently bought a Striker 9sv. I was wondering what is the best colors for the sonar, down scan, and side scan to pick up the most stuff like rock, brush piles etc. Also what setting do you recommend changing from default?

I am in the market for a spinner bait rod. Would a spinnerbait/ chatter bait be ok on my all around rod which is a duckett triad 7’ 3” Mh? Or should I go with something lighter?

I have been struggling lately to catch anything. I am located in northern Virginia and the water temps are in the upper 40’s. Where should I fish? Under Bridges, Deep, Shallow, Rocks, Wood? Also what lures would you suggest? This winter has been harder than any other winter is it just me?

It is a great reel don’t get me wrong but other than the fact it looks better I think just save some money and buy the normal slx or spend a little bit more and buy the curado K. It is a great reel though and I am sure you’d be happy with it.

I thought that was the problem too. I have a diawa fuego and they have the same spool so I switched that spool into the tatula and the same thing happened. I don’t understand what else it could be.
