I want to talke Shimano also
I guess I should have stated I already have a Curado 100-B, I'm leaning towards the Chronarch, money isn't an issue when I'm mouse clicking for reels 8-) it's an issue when the reel gets to me and I look at the bank statement online so for this discussion let's leave money out of it i'll deal with those consequences after I can't take back the purchase

I want to talke Shimano also
First and foremost do you find it neccessary to lube or tune a brand new reel? or do you consider it ready to go besides the fine tuning you need to do as far and braking and such? next... I'm contimplating over a Curado, Citica and Chronarch, Please tell me all you know of each reel and any comparison input between the three... please be specific with pros and cons and personal opinions, thanks guys! I love this place!

I need some serious help with my reel!
(Baitcaster) It has sand in it I think every other cast or so I go to cast and the line goes out about 10-15 yards and comes to a hault without a backlash, every now and then it'll go out fine but more often then not it stops it mid cast, it's still ok for pitchin' but i need distance it's my crank and spinner reel, what do I do? I sprayed both reels with WD-40 in the cracks and stuff when I got back from where I was fishing where it was sandy but this one seems to be locked up my only thoughts is it's sand :-/ I've never taken apart my reel and am timid to as the last one i took apart never worked properly again... suggestions? oh also I got so frustrated out on the boat with it that I was trying to get the line wet a good 50 yards into the spool on the retrieve and one time when it haulted i got so mad i just dunked the whole thing in the lake very quickly and soked, i realize now that was a stupid idea :'(, so where do I go from here guys???

well the bass are off the beds....
anyone? I went out last night again, attacked the lilly's, stumps, flats, rocks, and drop offs with spinnerbaits, Bass assassin's and a t-rigged doubled tailed watermelon lizard but to no prevail. I really think they're just not interested in anything at all, my presentations and rigging is flawless... please don't hesitate with ideas...

well the bass are off the beds....
for the most part at least... there are still a few hanging around the beds but I can't seem to tick them off or spark their interest and I can't catch the ones that have moved out, any suggestions? water seems semi-warm and there is grass, moss, algae, stumps, logs, points, shelves, drop offs, rocks, almost a lil' of everything... I've noticed that the algae and moss is growing over where the beds were a week ago so I assume that they've moved off those ones, right? I tried a lizard, a tube, a minus 1 and even a devils horse right on top of the beds and got nothing but one bass under a tree on a lizard t-rigged >.... please advise... 8-) p.s. presentation and approach advice is encouraged

how long do bass stay on the beds
i've been fishing for bass on beds for about a week to a week and half and they are still holding true to their spots, how long will the spawn last or how long will they be on the beds?

So... We all love buzzbaits...
- does anyone know fishing hats sites..
I'm looking for some hats for fishing, either bucket, ball cap or any other style- $1 spinnerbaits at Wal-Mart
seems to me the popular consensus is that they are good for parts like blades and skirts... so let me ask is the main problem the wire or the head, or both?- So... We all love buzzbaits...
but what in the name of BASS does it represent? my only guess is a fallen bird or bat... anyone know of any official "this is what it is" answer- I'm confused (t-rig vs. weedless)
by the way some of you speak in threads it throws me off, from what I've always referred to a T-rig... I've always been under the impression a texas rigged plastic, is a plastic that is rigged weedless with a bullet weight on top of the plastic. I thought those features combined together created the "Texas rig" so I don't understand when people say weightless t-rig, How can it be a t-rig without a bullet weight on it? what about that makes it a t-rig then, the weedless hook? please explain in great detail. If that is the case the why wouldn't you call a worm that is rigged weedless with the hook pushed in on the plastic on a c-rig be considered a t-rig? because of the weight placement and type right? I thought a c-rig was weight up on the line... and t-rig was weight on right top of the plastic i'm sure you'll have to read all that twice to understand what i'm asking, sorry... i'm just confused- I'm starting a Fishing Journal (suggestions)
I'm sure some other people log their trips, what kind of information do you keep, I'm thinking of including: Size (marked guessed or weighed) lure/bait time of day water clarity pictures if possible location depth (approximate) please provide you input if you have any, THANKS!- what's the difference in a flippin stick?
what's the difference in a flippin stick vs. my 6'6 or 7' rod Med/Heavy fast BPS Extreme rods I use? What's the deal is a flippin stick primarily just for flippin? as one would assume, hence the name. I seem to flip fine with what I use but maybe i could be better, will I notice a difference if i look into a flippin stick, can someone break it down for me please... also if you could suggest a particular model to look into i would appreciate it or even a link... THANKS GUYS!!- The BEST pair of Sunglasses!
I'll check it out 8-) thanks!- i suck at pitchin' with my baitcaster....
thanks alot lPa1nl and gloomis!! I can picture it in my head, I'll be practicing...- i suck at pitchin' with my baitcaster....
this is all VERY helpful... I guess I just don't have the feel for it yet but I'm confused on the release do I pull the lure/bait from my hand with tension from the rod? or do I sling the bait out there is a steady motion with my free hand while flickin' my wrist? I just can't get it down, and when I do what I think is right I don't get any distance or I backlash, I'm going to try the pointers given so far on backlash issues. I guess that's what I meant by delivery adivce needed.- Lure Color Selections
in merky/dirty water i choose gold blades and in clear water i use silver or colored blades, for the most part, does anyone else use this theory or one like it?- i suck at pitchin' with my baitcaster....
I'm definately going to try this out thanks alot!- i suck at pitchin' with my baitcaster....
Thanks for that! i'me actually not new to baitcasting itself just pitching with a baitcaster, i'm very comfortable with my line and will probably stick with the 20lb, i'm also having trouble with the actual pitch as for as delivery goes, can anyone offer advice on delivery...- i suck at pitchin' with my baitcaster....
BPS Extreme XPS 6'6 rod (i know i should use 7' for this) shimano curado 100 series reel, 20lb braided spiderwire, i guess 0 to ten yards, live on a lake so I''ll go home and try whatever i'm told tonight!- i suck at pitchin' with my baitcaster....
is that his name on here just 'the reel mech' I searched and coudn't find anything by that name, thanks BTW for the tip, thanks to everyone so far...- i suck at pitchin' with my baitcaster....
i do but I really want to learn with my baitcaster... any quick tips for me to try this evening since I can't have the DVD today- i suck at pitchin' with my baitcaster....
i suck at pitchin' with my shimano curado 100, i need advice on what to do, does it only work well on reels with a flipin' switch or can it be done on a reel without one? i just backlash all the time, I have the brakes loose in order to do it and if I made them tighter i wouldn't be able to release line on the pitch... i'm stumped, does anyone have any good articles or videos or just some friendly advice to get me in the right direction? - does anyone know fishing hats sites..
