I can understand why early morning and late evenings is the best time to fish in the summer, but I hear 2 different things about spring. Some say it doesn't change and some say the middle of the day is warmer for those cold spring water which makes it better for fishing. What's are other's opinion on this?

I see that 12 lb flouoro is popular for a football jig, while 15 lb flouoro is popular for a carolina rig mainline. So with that, why do people recommend throwing them on the same rod?

I was kinda exaggerating 10 yards but it was a little more then that. I was throwing it on a curado dc but the rod barely loads a 1/8 so it's less of the reel and more of a little too heavy of a blank for the application.

Last post for the night haha, im getting all my gear last minute as the ice is starting to clear. Would a 7 feet rod be more or less sensitive then a 7'3? Im referring to kistler rods if that matters.

Would you guys recommend a Medium or LMH for throwing strictly 1/8-1/4 texas rig in the z bone lineup or maybe helium? I tried throwing a 1/8 today on a MH and you couldn't cast more then 10 yards or feel the bottom at all. Cover is very sparse to none

I know its way too early to ask about frog fishing, but I'm getting my gear ready early on. I have a daiwa tatula 100 but I'm afraid the gears will pop out since I throw 50 lb braid and swing for the moon on hooksets. Any recommendation on a frog reel?
