I have 17 pound mono is that better? I thought flouro carbon was better

So it isn’t needed. It doesn’t help backlash or anything right?

I know for braid as main line you need to put mono down first so the braid doesn’t slip do you have to put mono down before spooling with flouro carbon?

I caught my first and second Bass last night almost third I saw it but lost it right before flipping it on the hula popper kinda crazy my first bass was on top water! I appreciate the help leading up to this but don’t worry I’ll still occasionally ask questions

When using flouro carbon do you have to put your thumb down to stop it.

I looked this up and it said it backlashes is this true? Or is it like every other line you just have to set your brakes and stuff right? It’s 15 pound flouro also if your wondering why I’m asking I got the Abu Garcia black max combo

Update: still haven’t caught a bass it’s been 3 months but getting closer. Yesterday I was fishing one side of the pond, on the way out saw about 15 Bass in a school after they were sitting all over I casted a few times with a wacky rig they showed no interest there near a bunch of sticks and a half pound or bigger what is the best lure for small bass or this situation to get there attention

Quantum Invade Bait caster combo or the black max bait caster combo. I like both out of sight but I’m mainly asking because of the gear ratios the Quantum is 6:1:1 and the black Max is 6:4:1 I want a rod that can throw mainly everything. Which works better as an all around rod. I’d also love responses from if any one has used the two.
