Any good 100-200$ (total) Combos at Dick's or Bass Pro Shops?
I may have to move over to bait casting and learn it. I feel like I could. Also, I live in Maryland and I could just be unlucky with my tackle warehouse orders but they always seem to take at least a couple weeks. Also, my local Dicks has a Dobyns fury casting and spinning rod, and a Shimano SLX in the right lengths the only problem is finding a reel in store to match it.

Any good 100-200$ (total) Combos at Dick's or Bass Pro Shops?
Hello all, First I wanted to thank the members of this forum, in an earlier post I was struggling to catch my first real bass. After getting a new rod and reel and learning a lot from this forum and other places, I finally caught my first bass and went on to catch 6 more that same day. I was loving the new rod and reel and was trying a new pond and realized it was full of catfish. Long story short, I changed my rig and caught my two biggest fish ever, both channel catfish, tonight. Then I got a monster bite that instantly took my rod + reel from its holder 5 feet up over the pier's railing, and sent it flying into the water. I was mentally tortured as I watched my new loved combo get dragged away and under into the pond. I spent hours with a friend's rod trying to get it out by dragging a carolina rig with a treble hook along the bottom to see if I could snag the rod or the line. However, the water was dyed and had 0 visibility + it was pretty deep and has some pretty large snapping turtles so I don't think a swimming mission would work either. But basically, unless I go back to the pond tomorrow and see the rod washed to the bank, I'm getting a new rod/reel. I would buy my old combo (Daiwa Aird X 7 Foot Medium Heavy and a Daiwa Revros LT2500), but I really don't want to wait for the month-long tackle warehouse shipping and can't find anywhere where it would be any faster. So, does anyone know of any good combos I could get at a local bass pro, dicks, or walmart for around 100-200$. Preferably a spinning combo and able to fish for multi-species. Thanks. Sorry for rambling but I had to vent this story as my heart is broken. Attached are the images of the fish I mentioned. First bass thanks to this forum. it couldn't fit into first post Also, does anyone know if tackle warehouse or daiwa have any chance of replacing this rod? I doubt it but I guess it's worth a shot? Maybe?

Uni Knot in Reel's spool causing casting problems
I might've put on too much of a mono base as I only had room for ~50 yds of braid on top but I'm pretty bad at guessing how much is on there.

Uni Knot in Reel's spool causing casting problems
I am using a Daiwa Revros LT 2500 Spinning Reel and recently bought 15lb braid for it. I've heard braid slips on a spinning reel and to tie on a monofilament base so the braid would not slip. I tied the mono to the braid with a Uni knot (or double uni knot). However, now the knot is in my reel, and at least once per trip it seems a far cast will get yanked back as my line coming out gets stuck on the knot. I then have to pull off all my line to the knot and sort of bury it and make sure there's no slack at all around it or else my casts after that get yanked backwards as the line gets stuck. Is there anyway to fix this, is my uni knot just bulky/bad, do I really need the mono base on my spool? Or should I just switch to mono/fluoro completely as tying a mono base into braid into a fluoro leader seems counterintuitive.

What line for new combo
Which color do you use?

What line for new combo
I recently got a new Daiwa Aird X Spinning 7"0 Medium Heavy with a Revros LT 2500 Spinning Reel. Its rated for 8-17lb line. Currently I have 10lb Zebco Omniflex, which is mono line. I was wondering if I should upgrade to braided line since I've heard it has more sensitivity and is overall better. If I should, what specific line and should I use a leader?

New fisherman: Go with a baitcaster or spinning reel
I've been fishing for a little over a year with a pretty cheap 5' UglyStik GX2. Now that I'm more into fishing I wanted to upgrade my rod/reel. I was recommended a video with some combos by another user on this forum and can't decide if I should go with a baitcaster, which I've heard casts further, or a spinning reel, which I've heard is better at finesse. The two main combos I was looking at was the Daiwa Aird X Spinning Rod with the Daiwa Revros (spinning reel) LT 2500 reel, versus the Dobyns Colt Series Casting rod with the 13 Fishing Origin A Casting reel (baitcaster). Thanks for any help. I should mention that my current rod has a spinning reel.

Tips for catching more bass
I was thinking about getting Lew's Xfinity Speed Spin Fishing Rod and Reel Combo for around 70 bucks as I've heard its a steal but its bright green. I was looking at some other ones for around 60 for the rod and 60 for the reel, but I'm stuck if I should get a baitcaster or spinning reel

Tips for catching more bass
Yea that's how I got into fishing going for bluegill at a local pond with nightcrawlers. I think I'm just gonna put down the needed money to upgrade my rod/reel for bass and save my current rod for ponds with panfish

Tips for catching more bass
Just watched both of these, mainly focusing on the cheaper combos in the first video. But, would you recommend I go for a spinning reel (which I've been using on my current rod for the past yearish) or change to a baitcaster. I've heard many pros and cons about both but not sure which one would be more universal/better to learn different stuff on.

Tips for catching more bass
Thank you for this, I have had my rod screw me a couple times. Two things, first, what fish are good for an ultralight and what baits if I still wanted to try bass with it? Also, do either of you have recommendations for a cheaper end rod/reel for bass? I will definitely try this next time I'm out at a pond, thanks! Yea some of the ponds I go to it seems like my bait just gets swarmed by bluegill not even interesting in eating it, just attacking it.

Tips for catching more bass
I've only fishing for a little over a year and mainly fish don't seem to fully take the bait or sometimes I'm just not sure how to tell when I should should set the hook. Now that I'm into fishing a lot more than when I started I've been considering getting a new rod/reel as my current is a pretty cheap combo with a 5 foot uglystik gx2 rod with ultra light power and moderate action.

Tips for catching more bass
I've been fishing in various ponds and mainly off the banks of Loch Raven Reservoir in Baltimore, MD. I've been rotating between a whopper plopper, 5" senkos, rage craws, and bandito bugs by googan baits all on a texas rig. I can only seem to infrequently catch bluegill on a whopper plopper or get minimal bites from bass but they never seem to fully take the bait. I'm not sure if I just need a boat or if these rigs are just bad or maybe I'm just doing it wrong. Any tips for bank fishing in a reservoir or smaller ponds would be much appreciated.
