Float fishing with Kids to catch ANYTHING
Thanks for the help guys. going to try the bread trick with smaller hooks and the crickets. I have heard crickets are better but I wanted to use the worms i grow for vermicompost. Its weird where i try to save money when I have spent hundreds of dollars on gear and lures that i havent even opened yet...

Float fishing with Kids to catch ANYTHING
Man so I went out on my own without the kids and setup an ultralight with a slip bobber split shot and a size 8 snell hook. Couldn’t get anything to bite the worm. The water was clear enough and shallow enough that I could see them. Some would peck a bit but they were so easy to spook. I think some issues could be that maybe the bobber was too big. Will try the bread tip next time. Not sure how to work on this. Might try the jig at the end over the hook. Thanks for the help guys

Float fishing with Kids to catch ANYTHING
I'm getting sometimes i am getting bites but i think i'm missing them. I think my hook might be too big. I was using a size 6 aberdeen yesterday. Will probably bump that down to size 10. Think i will practice float fishing on my own as well, i do wonder if there is some skill involved.

Float fishing with Kids to catch ANYTHING
I'm a relatively new fisherman and did not get a chance to growup slaying bluegills but went straight to bass. Now that I have kids, I want to give them that quintessential experience but I'm having alot of trouble catching bluegills of any size. Usually I have a light rig with a size 6 gold aberdeen hook, a splitshot like a foot above and a float just above that. I'm rigging up whole red wrigglers on them but still struggling. I wonder if its because I live in such a pressured area.

Bass eating something in grass
It was shallow and in clear water. Just thought they didn’t really like to dig their head into grass silt and algae but that’s what I saw them doing. figured I would try a Ned rig next.

Bass eating something in grass
Hey all. I was out fishing mid morning and I noticed some of the larger bass were digging themselves into the grass and it looked it was almost trying to forage for something. This was super shallow and there is no separation between grass the bottom. What do you think they were trying to eat? Also what would you recommend I throw? Jigs? Ned rig? thanks in advance

Focusing on Individual lures/techniques in "highly pressured" city ponds
This is kind of the mentality I was going for. Just grab a rod with a certain technique and force myself to become proficient with it

Focusing on Individual lures/techniques in "highly pressured" city ponds
Im interested in learning more about making fishing a daily mindfulness routine! what do you do? I have started listening to finance podcasts while i fish but i would hardly call that being mindful. I do like to go out every morning before sunrise and fish an hour or 2.

Focusing on Individual lures/techniques in "highly pressured" city ponds
I'm starting to want to just simply focus on individual techniques instead of just focusing on what I think may work (ie drop shot). Is it worth just taking only a single rod with only a single rig to try and force myself to learn how for a week or two? Only problem is, I live in Southern California and the local city ponds are what I would consider beyond pressured. Wondering what you're guys thoughts were. I just want to invest myself into being a better angler even if it hurts in the interim.

Are any of the Tatula rods good for an all around rod? Sounds like the mh/f is too heavy?

Summer morning bass hugging pond shoreline
This is all awesome information guys! I swear they are sleeping. A lot of times their head is buried in the weeds and won’t bite the lure unless it ticks them off or doinks them on the head

Summer morning bass hugging pond shoreline
I go out fishing early in the mornings and I’ve started to notice the fish are almost asleep and hugging the shoreline walls of our local pond. I’ve gotten to bite throwing a free rig Maxscent flatworm but it think they are very line shy. How would you guys recommend I attack them? thanks for any help in advance.
