I do have a boat with graphs. I think I’ve been able to establish where the thermocline is on what few trips I’ve been able to go fishing. My main issue is being able to eliminate dead water horizontally across the lake rather than vertically, if that makes sense. I know bass use channels to travel between shallow and deep water, but I guess my question is how far will bass travel away from that channel. The best way I can explain it is, in a wide creek arm off the main lake, if the channels is mainly to the right side of the arm than the left, will the majority of bass hang out on the right side closer to the channel? I know they follow bait, but wouldn’t the bait stay closer to the channel as well? I apologize for the long winded posts, but you guys are the only ones I have to ask.

Got a quick question, how far will a bass travel away from a creek or river channel? For instance, fishing docks on creek arms, how do you judge which docks are best? The ones closet to the channel? Or say fishing offshore, how far away from the river channel do you look? I’m still new to bass fishing and am struggling to catch fish. I am really trying learn how to eliminate dead water and put myself in better spots. I fish at Walter F. George/ Lake Eufaula in Alabama and feel like their is a huge amount of dead water away from any channels. Thanks guys.

I feel this same way every time I go fishing.

Trolling motor has its own batteries. Running accessories off my cranking battery. Im just not super impressed by my down scan images on my elite ti2’s. Seems like the fish are very faint specks and you need a magnifying glass to see them. I know I’m not the best on the graphs but I would think it’d be better than what it is.

Did your units run any faster? What size wire did you run?

It is. I’m tired of the units cutting off cranking the big motor and having to wait for the units to load back up. I figure if anything, the screen will be brighter but that’s all.

No, just the down imaging isn’t as clear as I think it should be. I’ve read to where some people have gotten better image quality going to a separate battery, but I don’t know. I thought 12v was 12v.

Hey guys, quick question. Will running a separate battery for only my electronics help clear up the images on my elite ti2’s? I’ve done some searching but haven’t really found an answer that I’m satisfied with yet. Thanks

Thanks guys. So pretty much three colors for each depth zone i want choose. And squarebills for shallow stuff. Whats the difference in say a shad rap vs a dt?

I’ve got a couple of dt’s now but never throw them because, like I said earlier, its never the right color or depth. I guess i need to just suck it up and buy a few at the time. Another thing is i get confused is when to throw a squarebill vs roundbill vs shad rap vs whatever other crankbait.

I’ve got a glass rod but I’ve also got a couple of graphite rods to throw them on. My glass reel has a 5.6:1 on it or something close to it and my graphite rods have a little faster reels. I have a boat but I don’t get to use it with twin 2 yr olds. So I find myself bank fishing ponds or taking a kayak out if I’m lucky more than being on the boat

Alright guys, I'm still relatively new to bass fishing. I've got some crankbaits already but it is a sporadic few. Being very basic here, but what cranks would you recommend going and getting to have a decent beginner setup? It seems every time I want to throw on, I don't have the right one for depth or color for that matter. Not necessarily asking for specific brands but if you want to recommend one, I won't be mad. And every time I go looking at the tackle shop, I get overwhelmed. I know this thread is probably beating a dead horse, but I need some help. I was thinking maybe getting the same basic colors for each depth zone, but you tell me. Thanks in advance. Auston

It didn't happen on the black friday sale, but I did happen to order some things from tackle warehouse a week or so before and my information was stolen and they did, in fact, try to buy crypto currency with it. Not saying tackle warehouse is to blame, but that's what happened to me.
