New Zebco Spincast
I appreciate the insight, new2BC4bass. I tend to trust reviewers here, rather than "customer" reviews on retail websites. You're right in that I may need to search elsewhere for a review on this reel.

New Zebco Spincast
Anyone tried the new Zebco Omega Pro spincast reel? As an avid spincast fan, I haven't found many reviews of this reel. Any suggestions are appreciated. Shoreliner

Getting deeper from the bank
Tremendous thoughts! Thanks for the sage advice! More than I expected even from this great forum!

Combining Gulp Alive baits
We bought one pint Gulp Alive! 5" leech container last Spring and have used the juice to "recharge" my Gulp nightcrawlers, shakey worms...keeping the colors separate, of course. I believe the Alive! juice is a bit different formula than the older Gulp zip packet baits, but I haven't noticed any change in the texture or action of the older baits after a good soaking.

Getting deeper from the bank
..A couple of questions for you bank fishing experts: How do you access the deeper parts of the impoundments you fish? Are you content to fish the upper parts of the water column..or do you take the chance of hanging on rip-rap or structure that you cannot see? What are your favorite lures to get "lower" from the bank?

Recommend a good trigger spinning reel
I'd like to get my two boys started on spinning reels. What are some good models that have the trigger and are easy to cast? The boys are 9 years old and have been using spincast reels. We fish for bass and bluegill on 4-6 pound mono.

Bank Fishing Tackle Box?
What lures should a beginning bank fisherman expect to use? I am stocking my tackle box, realizing I will be on mostly small, local impoundments with lots of rip-rap, and submerged cover. Are there lures I should probably avoid...just because I don't have a boat? What works best from the bank?

Are there finesse topwater lures?
I'd like to find some smaller topwater versions of the Smithwick rogue, or Zara Spook, or any "walk the dog" topwater. The ones I see in our local tackle shop are 5"-6". I know I can get tiny poppers and chugs, but what about other topwaters for light-weight or even ultralight applications?

Berkley Gulp! 3" fry, junebug....It is my "go to" lure in any conditions...rigged wacky, t-rigged on #1 or #2 widegap hook.
