  1. Question for people with a Kayak and Livescope. How do you transport the Livescope pole? I would rather not leave it connected to my Kayak while its on my trailer. From what I have seen you cant unplug the radar unit from the cord that goes to the black box. Correct? Mounting pole will be just PVC pipe with a ram ball attachment to a ram ball connection on my gear tracks. The only other thing I can think of would be to find a way to mount the cord that goes to the Black Box in a way where I can unplug it and just take the pole with me. I am just avoiding an issue of having the radar unit getting knocked and bounced around on kayak in transit. Any thoughts on if its safe to keep on the kayak and I'm just paranoid or or help with mounting so I can have it disconnect as easy as possible. Kayak is a Kaku Zulu.
  2. Hey! I have a Kaku Zulu fishing kayak and I have a few battery questions. I have a Garmin ECHOMAP Ultra 106sv and a Livescope LS34 on order. Would a yak power battery box with either three 7AH lithium or led acid or a 23AH Lithium be able to power that? I like the Yak Power idea as I could add lights instead of the makeshift ones I have now. I do have a Yak Attack Noctua 10AH Lithium and a 7AH Led Acid battery. Would those be enough if I were to use the 7AH on the livescope and the 10AH on the 106sv? Reason I am asking is I have heard mixed reviews on running the units on the same battery vs dedicated ones. Thanks for any input.
  3. I am planning on getting a Kaku Zulu kayak in the near future. Likely with the paddle drive system and maybe get a GPS trolling motor down the road. This is the first Kayak I will own outright. I have a 2020 Ford Escape that has the factory side rails on it. Issue is I have a sunroof and from what I see every crossbar system says that wont work. Does the sunroof change the strength and support of the roof? If its a matter of just not using the sunroof I am ok with that. Other issue is with the paddle drive on the Zulu it weights 100+ pounds. I have seen a few mounts that will work with that weight but any suggestions from people that have a heavy kayak would be appreciated. I do have the tow package on the escape. I would like to avoid this if possible because trailers seem really out of stock and very expensive. I am still open to the idea so if anyone has a good trailer option that is able to handle speed and is road safe let me know. Thanks! Looking forward to the Kayak but just want to get this stuff squared away first.
