  1. I am looking to replace the hooks on my KVD 2.5's simply because the stock hooks suck. They are way too big and break too easily. I want a little smaller but sharper and stronger hooks to replace my stock hooks. TIA
  2. I am fishing the pools 7, 8, and 9 during late June this year. Any recommendations on where and what to throw would be greatly appreciated!
  3. I am a bass fisherman looking to replace the split rings on some of my older baits. What size and brand would you recommend for standard squarebills?
  4. What are your guys' favorite pre-spawn lures. Mine are buzzbait, magdraft, and spinnerbait. Just wanna hear your guys favorites.
  5. Yeah I already have a 7'3 MH Lancer Pro for chatterbaits and it like it a lot. It has the perfect amount of backbone and can cast really accurate.
  6. @T-Billy I have 3 Arks and I'm a huge fan of them. I'm still not sure which rod I'll go with but I will take the Ark into consideration!
  7. @A-Jay thanks man that helps a lot. What do you guys think about the Shimano SLX Glass Cranking Rod?
  8. @Choporoz sounds good man. I've just heard that glass rods are the best for cranking. I would be willing to try out other though.
  9. @casts_by_fly yeah I know that 8-14 ft isn't very deep. But here in Iowa 99% of the brushpiles and rock piles are in 8-14ft of water. In most of our lakes it doesn't get super deep. @Choporoz The parabolic bend makes it have a better hook up ratio with treble hooked baits. @casts_by_fly I'm mostly looking for a 7' 4" MH glass rod. I just don't know which brand to get.
  10. I'm looking to start using deep cranks a lot more. I would like a rod that is around $100. I'm going to be throwing DT8-DT14 on this rod.
  11. @Tatulatard I can agree with that because isn't Shimano made in Japan or something. Their prices haven't gone up at all I don't think. I could be wrong tho.
  12. @garroyo130 That sucks because I just got mine in December and started to really like it.
  13. Thank you all for your replies I just got done ordering the Shimano SLX! Hope it performs like you all said it would. I already have a RevoX and I love it. So I figured I would see if there is any other good reels for $100. Also does anybody know why the RevoX went from $100 to $120??
  14. I think I will try out the Shimano SLX because that seems to be the one that most people like better. Thanks guys.
  15. Just wondering what the best baitcasting reel under $100 was.
  16. There is a club called the Iowa Kayak Anglers based out of North Liberty. Also if you have anybody you know under the age of 18 they could join the Iowa Youth Fishing League based out of Urbandale, Iowa. If you have any questions just let me know!
  17. Does anybody know of some good smallmouth spots in the Central Iowa area? Looking to break my personal best smallie this year.
  18. Well I assume that you didn't throw a ton of hard baits in Florida due to all the grass. Hard baits are killer here especially in winter. You can catch em really good on jerkbaits and other hard baits. Wacky rigs and the standard texas rig are also really good year round.
  19. There is also a club called the Iowa Youth Fishing League that you could try out. You do not have to pay for all the tournaments, just the ones you want to fish. If you are interested lmk. haha nevermind didn't see that this post was made in 2012.
  20. I'm in a B.A.S.S tournament at Norfork on April 24th. I was wondering if anybody had any tips on what is working. Any tips are appreciated!
  21. I used one and first cast the end unfolded and all the blades and beads fell off leaving me with a spinnerbait with only a jighead and a wire.
  22. @rangerjockey The tournament is on April 9th and it is a Highschool Open. Thank you all for your intel!
  23. I have an MLF tournament on Table Rock the 9th and I have no idea where to start. Different people are telling me different things and I don't know anything about this body of water. Any tips and spots would be greatly appreciated!
