NICE! Tell me about that rod please. It reminds me of the old pistol grip shimano rod with aluminum reel seat, from the Bantam 100 days. I have a Bantam 100 of granddad's on that rod. Awesome pair made for each other.

I just got one of these reels too. I love it, but it is different. I just thought I liked my reels loose, this dc is friction free for sure, much looser than I am used to. I am liking it more each time I use it and learn it more. I was curious about the tension setting also. Good post. I will probably get another of these reels in a couple months. My biggest concern is longevity. Will they live as long as my original Calais reels? I am still using my 3 Calais, 2 of the 200-5 and 1 of the MG-5. They are almost as smooth as when new after all the years of use. I do maintain them every couple years, LOVE them. If I could, I would buy 2 more NOS of those same MG-5 models. The Antares DC has big shoes to fill for sure.

They were more than worth the wait for sure. I got my first one in a store locally. My second took about 6 weeks, 3rd took about 2 or 3 weeks. The sensitivity of them is impressive. I still love my Kistler Helium rods, but these Edge rods are my new favorites. The black widow drop shot rod, casting version, is the 2nd and 3rd rods I got from them. I like the first enough to get another, it was $100 off on sale, so I did it. I use it for small to medium bottom contact worms and such. So sensitive that I can feel the fish's personality. I plan to get a spinnerbait rod, flipping/jig rod, one of their hybrid cranking rods from them. Plans change sometimes though. I am always checking out other rods available. I had good service from them overall. Now I just got to finish cleaning and lubing a few of my reels this morning, then off to the lake to start making them dirty again. life is awesome

I say go with the Edge rod. REALLY love the 3 I have and plan to get a few more. The carbon handles are very nice. My new favorite handle style for sure

I love the 2 Black widow drop shot rods I got and the first strike spinning rod. I plan to get 2 more from them eventually.. I actually prefer the carbon handles. I had decent service, no complaints. They gave me the sale price for one of my rods days after the sale ended. It never hurts to ask! I wish more companies had carbon handles. I got a cashion rod recently too. I like it but like the edge rods better so far. Who else makes rods with similar carbon handles that is usa made?
