  1. I have a C Tug. Works great, but can be quite a struggle to attach to a big, heavy kayak. Hobie carts that fit into the scuppers look awesome, but I think they only fit Hobie yaks.
  2. I just use outriggers on my Old Town Big Water 132 PDL. They can attach to almost any kayak and provide quite a bit of stability.
  3. Personally, if you plan to fish a lot, get a 12 footer. Stable, can hold a good amount of gear, still light enough to not require a trailer.
  4. I have a fairly high end kayak (Old Town Big Water 132 PDL) with a nice Hummingbird fish finder. I enjoy it, but would rather have a 17 or 18 foot bass boat any day. The boat gives you greater range/speed, can accommodate more gear, and is a much more stable platform to cast from. Flipping, pitching, and skipping are tough on a kayak. I had a Tracker 17 foot aluminum bass boat in the past, but have a smaller garage after a divorce so got the kayak to fit in my garage. I have fun in the yak and catch a lot of bass, but miss the boat.
  5. I have an Old Town Big Water 132 PDL and I don't feel comfortable standing to fish. I even put pontoon stabilizers on it and it's still too wobbly for me. I know I would be in the water with a hard hook set or bass boat wake. I can do some short pitching/flipping while seated, but stick to casting pretty much. I fish mostly cypress lined creeks and lakes with little floating vegetation so accurate casting work fine for me.
